and good riddance..gets all upset when people accuse him of underhanded dealings....what does he expect? Why does'nt someone investigate how much money his company has made at the complex and the bidding process? No, all the city and county want to do is play the good 'ol boy game and say what a great person he is and what he has done for the community...never did anything that did'nt benefit his pocketbook.

And your kids still are banned from the complex. How embarrassed they must be to have you for a mom.

seems like he had a lot of influence to have a whole section of city street closed for the benefit of his own business, too much power for a small town, I won't be doing any business there.

Mayor Dumass was the person that gave away the taxpayers property for Blackmon's personal gain. The street was there long before his business. Also he was to donate a street just west of Columbia to take the place o the street that was given to Blackmon.

Get your facts straight. It was the work (and the vote) of the City Council to abandon the street for Mr. Blackmon. You can also point the finger at Ward 4 aldermen (at that time) Justin Hendrix & Dianne Hammond who pushed for this "in the name of the children". However, the entire council voted to do away with the street. You can query the city records for the actual vote.

Now, I'm not agreeable to this either, but the only way to do away with such conduct by the council, is to start voting each one of them out. Its not an easy (or quick) process to do this. They come up for re-election every two years, so it might take more than one cycle to pull it off.

The entire mindset of the council is this way. Getting rid of the people who are preventing El Dorado from growing, are the same ones on the council. Even the CURRENT mayor needs to go !

No,$12000 WAS given for the park to close the road. Stop lying and misleading.

Exactly. Doesn't make it a bad trade... Shut down one accident-prone street AND get paid for the property.

It was a bad, accident prone street. The city needed to shut it down. Had they just done it the land would have reverted to the owners on both sides of the street just like they did. That is state law.

He didn't have to donate crap. But he did.
