How can Hash recruit someone like this?????????? People need to raise hell about this!! BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCK TOGETHER!! VERY INTERESTING TO SAY THE LEAST!! I MEAN HOW CAN THIS BE???

I heard some wealthy men bought the Ritchie gro bldg for 2 million with the understanding that the city will turn around and buy it from them for 6 million!!!! If that turns out to be true HASH needs to be removed from office

Might want to oust the City Council too, since they are the ones that have to approve the expenditure. Of course, if this is true, then they ALL need to be removed....by resigning or by the voters !

They should have to pay the wealthy people that bought Ritchie a fair market price , it don't matter if they lose money,or not!! They had a criminal motive to imbezel the city on this very shady transaction hand in hand with Hash!! Someone needs to call their hand on this! It needs a full investigation along with other things!! They need to do a audit on the city and its spending! I'm just saying!(:

They don't have to pay anybody to get the building. Eminent Domain worked for the Conference Center. of course, none of the people there had the money to fight it.

Even if the owners fought Eminent Domain, it wouldn't cost 6 million dollars to resolve the issue.

No industry or jobs? We have quite a few large industrial employers, and every single one of them is hiring. And Murphy USA has hired and is hiring over a hundred people this summer because of the spinoff. Just because you want things to be horrible doesn't mean that's the case.

Exactly what I've been saying again and again. These topix naysayers just WANT things to be terrible here, so they can continue cracking jokes that they think are funny (no matter how true they actually are).

Ok hot shot...You seem to have all the answers and defending the Mayor Rash & the City Council, please answer this...

Why has El Dorado lost 25% of its population in 30 years ?

Why has Pilgrim's Pride, Prescolite, Cooper and Viking Industries decided to get rid of their operations in El Dorado and causing 2,000 jobs to be lost ?

Can't wait for you (or anyone else) to spin this.

You're absolutely right. It's also true that our existing employers are adding hundreds if not thousands of jobs and spending hundreds of millions of dollars in capital investment. Can't wait for you to spin that.

Viking Industries was a joke and rip off. They worked people on the JTPA and only payed half the wages and the government paid the other half. As soon as you went off JTPA they got rid of you to get a new hand in on it. Sam and Sara had it all figured out. The place was practically a revolving door of people going out and coming in.

Tell me...how many jobs have been added in the past 2 years? I can tell you, very few. Not enough to recover the 2,000 we've already lost.

You didn't answer the question of the loss of the population. But I can tell that its because of no jobs. We've losing more than what's being created. The population is dropping for some reason...the lack of jobs in the area.

Now, about "The Promise". As for the people that moved here to take advantage of it, how many have stayed ? I can tell you again, not many. As of a matter of fact, out of the 10 families that moved into my old neighborhood, only 1 remains. Wonder why ? It's because the parents couldn't find decent paying jobs to remain here and raise a family. When I moved my family & my business out of El Dorado, every one of my employees (except for 2 out of 14) moved with me. And I'm (and my employees) are very happy for it.

But it looks like you're one of those Mayor Rash supporters. The mayor & City Council have done NOTHING to relieve the jobs or population problems. If telling the truth is spin, then I'm guilty. Facts are facts, and you can't change them. But I can back up my information, you just have to do research.

Let me know when good paying jobs, and the population rebounds. I MIGHT consider moving my family & my business back.

Otherwise, keep on drinkin' that Mayor Rash Kool-Aid.
