Have you read the papers? The county is facing a real crisis over the Ouachita River. The county needs jobs and good roads. Mike Dumas has experience. He has sound judgment. He stepped up because we need a good person in that position. His opponent is Steve Ward, who has done nothing but embarrass the county.

Mike Dumas as mayor always left El Dorado worse off at the end of his term than at the beginning-- business closings, loss of jobs, then came population loss then more taxes. He didn't have the skills or the mojo when he was younger so he certainly doesn't qualify now.

Mike Dumas has guided us through very tough times. The population would have declined no matter who was mayor. There was nothing he could have done to stop Bo Pilgrim from shutting down that plant -- Pilgrim was determined to do it no matter what. He did everything possible to prevent business closures and bring new business in, but the economic pressures were working against South Arkansas. In fact, because of Mike Dumas, the city is building and the city is in far better shape than many other communities -- Camden, Strong, Huttig, Crossett, and many others.

Steve Ward dressed up like an Indian at one of the Tea Crapper rallies. He always says stupid things in the meetings, and he disagrees simply to disagree. He is a moron. Dumas is great.

How did he leave El Dorado worse off? Have you seen the new convention center? Businesses are closing all over. It's not the mayor's job to stop businesses from closing.

Steve, all you do in the meetings is scream at everybody and tell all the others how they are breaking the law and you're the only one who knows what hes doing. You do not cooperate with anybody and any time anybody comes up with anything to try to help the county -- economic development, spending, or even a simple resolution to save the Mt. Holly post office, you are always there to jump up and down like a spoiled brat and oppose it. You have been a complete waste of space. You have no idea what you are doing up there or what you are really supposed to accomplish. Republicans don't want to admit this, but Mike Dumas is far better for the job by his experience and temperment.

I know Mike Dumas was the one that screwed up the $18 million dollar conference center and only allowed about 80 parking spaces for potentially 1200 guests that it was built to accomodate. Mayor Dumas violated his own city ordinace by not having a planning and zoning committee hearing that would addressed the number of needed parking spaces for a building of this type and use. Today this building can only attract small gathering due to the lack of ample and convenient parking. The new high school has 700 to 800 parking spaces for 1200 people. This was intentional act of Dumas of which he has failed to give the public an apology. NO NO NO we don't need any individual or politician making $18 million dollar errors.

Name one conference the Conference Center has lost because of parking. Just one......
You can't because it hasn't happened. When counting parking, they count everything in the area, including the college and the bank parking lot across the street. The center always has something going on. This center has been a success and has been widely praised by city planning experts across the country. Planning experts have said that the city under Mike Dumas did everything it was supposed to do to build infrastructure and attract business. He was always an active participant in trying to secure new corporate relocations to this area. That is in direct contrast to Steve Ward who has openly said he will not do anything to help business or economic development.

You must be Mike Dumas campaign manager. Its common knowledge that other conference center managers use the lack of parking for large meetings and the fact you have blighted properties and an unsolved murder nearby. Now, the planning and zoning ordinance for new buildings requires ample convenient on-site parking not using other people's property or parking in the street in front of other businesses denying them customer access. Can you imagine the high school or Wal-Mart NOT having a parking lot on-site for people. By the way Brookshires nearby does not want guests of the conference center using their parking lot and damaging their business. Dumas tried to ignore and cover up this screw up but he has been called out and he owes the taxpayers a big apology. If you are going to do an $18 million dollar project then do it right or step aside.

You must just be an idiot. The Conference Center is a success. You're just one of those people who looks around town and just wants to bitch instead of doing anything. It's the Steve Ward approach. Do nothing and bitch at everything you see.

Why don't you prove it hasn't been. Give us some numbers, name reports. Give us a list of scheduled events. Can you even tell us who to call to schedule anything there? Just like your friend Steve Ward all you want to do is bitch.

You are right- Dumas does make stupid decisions using the taxpayer money. Local people are hurting more and less blessed when he left office than when he began. When you make major mistakes and don't face up to the public about it-- that is an arrogance that needs to be removed from politics.

If you left it to Steve Ward, he would do absolutely nothing. He has said as much. There would be no effort to bring in businesses. Those jobs would all go somewhere else where local officials would work to welcome them. Mike Dumas left office at the end of a recession. El Dorado did not have to lay off police or fire fighters or cut back on garbage collection. And we were still able to start building projects. That's a pretty good record.

And all you have against Mike Dumas is parking? Really? Parking has not once been a problem over there. That's pretty shallow and shows no concern fir this city's interests or your own.

Ward has said he will not work to help the community's interests, while Dumas has only worked for the public good for 30 years. What's funny is that the Democrat is doing more to promote business and economic development than the Republican.

Since he did violate city ordinances in regard to the conference center why would anyone trust him? Like mentioned in the past, if you want to revitalize downtown ample and convenient parking is a must for guests and visitors.

Typical Republican. No ideas of their own and no grasp of reality so they just attack. No ordinances were violated with the Conference Center. Just another typical lie from a desperate Steve Ward whose only supporters are other people's pets he poses with in newspaper ads and likes to pretend they talk.

Mike Dumas is coming as a Democrat. He will be the Rebublican wearing the Democrat mask. Mike "Tax Crazy" Dumas is already talking about a new tax. Steve Ward has did an outstanding job as J P and should be allowed to continue on election day. The good ole boy politics are what's killing this area. Steve Ward is not a member of the "good ole boy club", Mike Dumas is it's President. VOTE STEVE WARD J P.
