I am sure this post will come with some opposition, but I have to say it is time for Bob to go. Ever since he had the tragedy of his son last year he is a differant person. He is out right hateful to the teachers. He is uncooperative to his direct staff and parents. During opening orientation last year he shocked everyone with his negativity and so much for the welcome to a new year speech, he chewed everyone out and not one single person left there feeling good about the year, the job, the management, or the schools in general. Bob left it up to the principals to fix everything that he destroyed in a few minutes. No he is not the same, he needs a change. The School Board is his puppet so no help there. He has done some good in the past but move over because we need a change.

Obviously you knew that your post would meet with much opposition! Most untruths usually do. From my perspective of having worked with the El Dorado Public Schools and raised my children in our schools, I think this district has been very lucky to have Bob Watson serve as the superintendent. Most people in this community and across the state believe he continues to perform exceptionally for us. Your gripe must be centered on your own personal problems.

The only comment you made that resembles the truth is that he has been affected by the loss of his son. Any parent would be. Have you ever lost a child or someone so close to you that your heart breaks?

I donít think you or anyone else would want to trade places with him.

He's always done a good job by me. I don't work for him, or have ever worked for him. I've dealt with him a couple times. Seems fair. It's those piece of shit Principles he has working for him. Beckelshiemer or however you spell that pile of feces' name, will tell you one thing and do another. He claims a "zero tolerance" policy then lets some kids get off, and punishes others. Walters is no better. In case you are wondering, I've told them both to their faces, and Watson the same. I've told Watson as well about it I probably just outed my identity, but It would be worth it to let folks know how these two faulty pieces of the system are broken.

They get them from me. The gov pays their house notes, food, phone bills, etc, so they can spend the money they make on cars, wheels, and $400 shoes.

I think we both know that Bob Watson cannot fit in a mustang.

Bob does in fact need to retire. That man says one thing, makes promises, and does something totally different. I have had issues with him twice. Both times in regards to the principal at Barton. She is the rudest, most irrational, ignorant excuse for a principal I've ever witnessed. Both times I went to MR. BOB and both times he assured me that I was right and he would take care of the problem and call me within a "few" days to let me know what had been done. Guess who NEVER got a call back...either time! HE WORKS FOR US, THE PARENTS. WE PAY HIS SALARY. Both times I called back and left messages for him to call me and still he never called. RETIRE BOB WATSON!! Also, as someone said before, the school board is his puppet...you'll get NO help from them. Tried that too. Honestly, if it weren't for "The Promise", my kids would be elsewhere. Oh, and yes, Bob does need to stop trying to take over PC...who wants PC anyway!

Sounds like you would do well to send your kids to PC. Why not - just because the opportunities there are so small vs all that Eldo schools have to offer to a good student I guess.

No, Mr Watson does not work for the Parents, he works for the school district patrons - which include all of us citizens. That means not bowing down to every parent who wants the school run to suit thier little baby. That means having respect for teachers and administrators who work hard to achieve the best results for all students. That is what we have benefited from in our town for so many years with Bob and the staff and teachers of our great school system.

Again, if you want to run the school, please move on to PC where I am sure they will be glad to let you run it just your your little angel wants it.

If eldorado schools are as great as bragged about why are PCs act scores always higher? Why do they always rank above eldo on school report cards? Maybe arrogant bob needs to find the answers to these questions and implement them at eldo. Model what pc has done and repeat it at eldo. Don't just make it your goal to try and steal something 4 generations have worked hard to build. Non Watson is jealous of pc!
Yes fully agree with you on that. All Bobby wants it more students and more money. He does not care about the students what so ever. The whole academic system at PC is better than HellDorado!!!! He thinks he is all that and a bag of chips. Yet all he is doing is taking over schools and bussing the kids where he see's fit. Also why rebuild the High school and not Yocum??? It is alot older and in need of a major face lift.

Certainly no reason to be jealous of PC. The test scores are purely a function of demographics, luckily the PC kids start off on a good footing and I am glad for them with that. Given the limited opportunities there, the kids do well.

I think its a big waste of taxpayer money to have so many school districts in one county - a huge waste on administrative costs for services being duplicated.

The state recognized this a few years ago and got rid of the most egregious situations - thus the mergers of the Huttig, Mount Holly, and Union school districts. I would think another round of that will come some day, especially as the population in south arkansas continues to shrink. But I do think it will take a state mandate and not the actions by any one man, or group, or even disttict to cause further consolidation.

PC, there is no need to see a bogeyman behind every tree. If you do, its likely because you see that it is illogical for all these small districts to exist in this one county, and therefore you recognize that any unbiased outside observer (the State), will someday make the changes that make sense.

You PC people are just jealous that you didn't get the Promise....It seems funny to me that when the Promise was first announced, all the PC folks were mad that Murphy Oil didn't include their "wonderful" school system.

It's seems funny to me that this post was supposed to be about Bob Watson and PC gets brought in to the mix. PC could care less about the Promise! Most kids at PC are smart enough to get scholarships! Know why? Because we have parents and faculty that actually care about the education the students are getting. I think it kills Bob Watson to know how good PC School District is doing and how great the test scores are in PC. I'm am so thankful to have graduated PC Proud and be sending my kids there too! Great job to John Gross and the faculty at PC. I know they go above and beyond to make sure that the students are getting an excellent education!!

test scores are one thing. you need to learn how many pc proud students going into our community college have to take remedial courses. it won't make you proud.

<quoted text>. Function of demographics? Please explain. Are you implying that blacks are dumber. Or that they are harder to teach?
I did not mention blacks. It is the poor, and the eldo district has more than 50% that come from poor families. They learn well and do acheive a great deal in the El Dorado district. It is just a fact that given their circumstances (not their own doing), they arrive at the district at a distinct disadvantage.

As I said I am glad that is not the situation in PC, but comparing test scores from very demographically different populations is comparing apples and oranges.

I am reminded of the story of the broker who said he can guarantee to make you a millionaire. Asked how he could do it, he said, "yYp, I can do it, just give me 10 Million to start with".

<quoted text>. Pc kids have a saying about the promise. "if you dumb, get ya some". Meaning if you work hard you'll get a scollie anyway. Any parent that would send their kids yo eldo instead of pc to save 6000 a year doesn't have kids best interest at heart. That's 24000 bucks. About half what a new nice trucks costs!
So if the PC people didn't care about the Promise, then why was there so much whining that their kids didn't get it. I distinctly remember that being a huge deal at the time. PC just wants to keep "certain" students out of their school district so they don't tarnish their so-called perfect image. El Dorado School District has a lot of very smart students that graduate every year. They also receive good scholarships along with the Promise. PC is just smaller so they think they have smarter kids and make better grades. The amount of kids in El Dorado that graduate in the top 10% of their class probably outnumber the whole PC school system.

Oh yeah, and I would like to see PC play El Do in football! See who would win that challenge. Wildcats-1, Trojans-0

Go Cats!!!!

P.S. Where did you go to school? Cause you need to learn grammar!
