What's going on with Murphy Oil? Why are people constantly stepping down or resigning?

. Its called retirement, but losers like you that constantly make stupid comments like this are obviously not well educated and more than likely have not worked anywhere that retirement is a benefit.

Okay, then why do so many retire from there so quickly after taking a position when they really don't have to?

But really, the OP statement was regarding everyone, not just people claiming to resign or step down because of retirement. Which the article above never mentioned retirement. Just that he was stepping down. But it does seem strange that a CEO would step down so soon after just taking the position. Didn't the last CEO step down (or retire) because of a similar circumstance?

It was a temporary position for Steve while they looked for a new CEO. The announcment of his replacement was surprise as the company needs new life, new tech and creative people to take this out of the 1950's. A sweeping overhaul of current staff is neccessary.

He was there on an interim basis until the spin-off was complete. This was planned so it's not a big deal.

If you read the article it explains he came out of RETIREMENT on a temporary basis until the spin-off was complete. This was planned as alot of Corporations do this when spinning off or merging with another company

Really?? FOUR CEO's at Murphy in the last five years?? Fact. Demming, Woods, Cosse, now Jenkins. How many other Fortune 150 companies have had that much turnover?? It's called turmoil. They have problems. Get a clue.

3 of those CEO's (Demming, Woods, and Cosse) retired. That is not tormoil. It's what happens in the private sector: a comfortable lifestyle. It's not built off the backs of taxpayers, such as Congressmen and government employees. Capitalism built this country. A successful company has provided 3 examples of successful careers. Your dumbass needs to get a clue.

First...not Paul. "Retirement" is Murphy code for fired. Four in five years. That is not normal.

No, retired is what the 3 previous CEOs did. You were fired, because you are not normal.

Who cares. Everyone already knows that's the last place you want to work. Why do you think people are always quitting or getting fired. This is old news.

No, everyone does not know that's the last place you want to work. People are always quitting or getting fired because its one of the largest employers in the area. Anybody that understands the job market would understand this. We can see why you were dismissed.
