It will most likely encourage the local psycho to move on to greater heights.

Why is the editorial anonymous ( group effort?) when special circumstances are now required to publish a letter to the editor without attaching a name? Did the paper learn of Lara Mason's arrest from the local Topix forum? Was it in the community's best interest to splatter Lara and Sondra across the front page?

Nothing would have ever been said about Lara and Sondra's arrest until it was on Topix and their playing favorites and coverups was brought to the publics attention! Turning their heads to the wrong doings of wealthy political families!! They was forced to do a article on these two then!! Prior to Topix I wonder how much other stuff the News Times never let the public know about so it could be hush hush and swept under the rug!! It might be surprising to hear!!

Sitting in Crabapple last Sunday evening, I noticed posts on two separate threads claiming that Lee Ann had passed over. Asked some people, one of whom made a phone call, texted a friend of the family and soon confirmed it was true. I began checking the Between Editions site. Right now, it jumps from August 14 'American Idol' bus to stop in Little Rock to August 22 Obama calls for a new college rating system.

I have to agree that their saying "Topix is full of awful gossip, don't go there!" is pure advertising for this forum.

Oh, hell no. Don't bring that goober into this. We all got sick about the bashing of Atwoods, and their "competition" has already been ran out of town. That loser needs to let it go.

What's bad is you can trust the crap on here just as much as you can trust the paper. They couldn't report local news accurately if their business depended on it.
Whole town buys that rag just for the comics and classifieds.

You act like everyone checks Topix. They don't. Mostly just a bunch of white trash talking about other white trash, and a couple of crazies. Seriously, nobody ever says to me "did you see on Topix". Decent people could give three shits about gossip.

Those women were on the front page of the paper because ANYTIME a woman, man or teenager from a middle class or up family commits a crime it is considered news. Thats what happens when you live in an isolated town in the middle of nowhere. Learn to live with it.

The "NEWS" was still available days earlier on Topix than even on their Between Editions site.

Between the insults, some people post information on Topix which they wish to share, sometimes in hope of learning more. This should be regarded as raw information, not collated intelligence. When David Ray "Whisky" McKinney would telephone with an interesting tale, especially if he did not claim to be a witness, it was not accepted as revealed truth. He may have heard it from Chesley Pruitt's secretary, Ruby Joy Blanchard, the District Prosecuting Attorney or another semi-functional alchoholic ( only relating the "another" to David, not others listed ) whose path he'd crossed around Calion. The story might not be correct, but there was usually a kernel of fact from which it had germinated and if interesting enough could be checked out.

Likewise, the News-Times reporting is raw information, quite often inaccurate and biased. No Pulitzer Prize winners in this hick town.
