I think that they tried to run a monopoly on the beer tent & the new build a bar also! And why wait until the last minute to go do these inspections?! Why weren't the business owners given time to get things up to code in order to run their businesses & make $ just like Music Fest is on the beer sales?! Definitely trying to have a monopoly on the beer revenue. Shame on them for doing it to!
Who tried to run a monopoly? The IRS? The IRS doesn't give two shits about some hicktown hillbilly beller-off. 5 years of back taxes is plenty of "time to get things up." And a business always has to be up to code before opening its doors, dumbass. Nobody is trying to have a monopoly on that $10 hotass beer. Be smart enough not to buy it.

Sorry azz elected city officals probably got a piece of the pie if the truth was known for allowing this wrong doing! Things need to change around here and the chocks need to be knocked out from under some of these high and mighty officals that think they can mow over anybody anytime and get their way its time people get together take a stand and show them they cant do underhanded stuff like this and. get away with it
A code enforcement person is not elected, dumbass. The city doesn't have a thing to do in Musicfest. No educated "wrong doing" occurred, other than you being a fuckingmoron. But that's not illegal, so carry on. Nothing needs to change around here and, if you feel like you're man enough, walk up to the tables at the next city council meeting and "knock the chocks" off of one of them. You start it off, see what happens. YOU lead the charge and "show them they can't do underhanded stuff like this and. get away with it". LMFAO @ YOU

If they were closed down because of taxes there would be a big pink sign on the door!! The fire dept shut them down for not having some type of alarm!!! I might ad this was right before time to open.... Kinda unusual for fire dept to come downtown during musicfest to do Inspections don't you think.... I thought Main Street was in charge of musicfest isn't that part of the city? Isn't the fire dept part of the city??

Very good points! I bet if the business owners got together & sued for lost revenue an investigation would reveal that "the powers that be" got together & shut them down to up their revenue on the beer sales. I doubt anything will happen but I wish they would so people could see how crooked everyone in this town is.

They were told the wiring was old, tired, over worked and needed a rest. But it should be fine to open back up Monday.

I agree! Hope they file a tremendous lawsuit against the city mafia and all responsible parties it would make them think twice before attempting some shady deal like this in the future! I mean these businesses have been safely operating many years without incident! Why didnt they givr these businesses time to comply? To shut them all down at musicfest so they could have a monopoly and gouge the public this is very unfair

LOL. We can't get sued. Closing those joints down falls under our Temporary Imminent Domain For Profit Laws. LOL. We got it all figured out. We make the money, they don't. It's that simple. The election was not rigged for nothing to get me elected, I'm good. LOL.

Since Dick Mason owns these buildings and is the Landlord then you need to get his take on the situation. He should be keeping these buildings up to code or let the tenant handle. If they want to clean up downtown then they need to start enforcing the law every weekend. Nothing but thugs, misfits and losers in some of these joints.

No there wouldn't, dumbass. Kelvin has been shut down many times before because of taxes. No "pink sheets." Your dumbass has been watching too many movies, and he didn't get fired. He got closed down. The fire department shut down the new Marilyns because of a fire safety issue. By law, the fire marshall has to inspect all new established businesses and vendors during any festival. This is common knowledge. Main Street has to abide by laws, just like anyone else. Now, stop being a complete moron.

It's a mandatory law to perform such inspections before any business opens. There is no city mafia and no lawsuit to pursue. There was no "shady deal," dipshit. Marilyns actually opened the first night of Musicfest. It was a stupid idea. Mink Eye and Einsteins closed weeks ago because of failed payment of taxes. There was no monopoly. The public is not gouged if they're smart enough not to buy or get creative. Apparently, you're an idiot.

Your crazy shit is usually kind of entertaining but nobody cares to read twenty different posts from the Topix troll. You poor, miserable being. When are you going to have a life outside of Topix and stalking people?

This guy should be a lesson in boredom. Living an unfulfilling life has driven him mad. Having inferior education and nothing more than a mediocre job (or welfare lifestyle) has made him angry and lashing out, which in turn keeps him from having any satisfying relationships with people. The result is a loser that spends all his free time arguing and bashing people on Topix. Nobody cares that he's breathing, nobody will miss him when he's gone. His only relief comes from letting out his anger. SO freaking glad nobody I know personally is that miserable.

Actually the second location of Marilyn's was shut down right before opening time the first night of music fest by a "code violation"! And the owner was not given time to fix it before Music Fest, no doubt on purpose! And yes it felt quite bogus since it is well known many on the Main Street board do not like the owner! He wanted to put tables outside for his customers & the board didn't want him to! So yeah I know what I'm talking about, & maybe you should do a little homework yourself!
