There is some mention on the thread listed as 'Stories about UCSO Deputies'. It is also mentioned online in the El Dorado Newstimes today. It does not say who it is because next of kin has to be notified. It was a male. It doesn't say if he was black or white. In a cell by himself, so it appeared to not be foul play or suicide. The body was sent for autopsy.

IMHO Our county jail is probably one of the worst in the nation for the way detainees are treated by the people that work at the jail. They are treated as quilty until proven innoscent.

They just don't give a sh!t. Really. They act like they want people to die and treat them like trash. Some are, but they deserve better treatment than a stray dog.

Act like a dog, get treated like a dog. Jail is not a welcoming center or a hospitality house. It's just like it sounds JAIL, locks, bars, hard beds, crap food. Anybody that's there put themself there. Enjoy the stay.

It should not be a death sentence, for anyone.

I know someone that was "detained" for 72 hours. They could hear the guy in the next cell have a seizure and fell on the floor out cold for over 3 solid hours before someone checked on him and got a nurse. This was a while back.

They had screamed for help and no one came. Only saw someone when the slop was fed.

They are putting people in jail that are sick and really should be in a hospital of some sort. They assume everyone is drunk or high or a criminal.

Well, for murderers or child molesters/abusers it should. Not saying this particular inmate was, just commenting on your generalized statement.

I was commenting on the thread topix and the original poster. This is not the same. I don't know the man, but I don't believe he was either. IN fact UC still has a child molester that we are paying to feed and care for that his state doesn't want back because he has been here since June!

Do they not do an every hour security check? It would make since if you have a jail log system on your computer and record every security check every hour to cover your self. least have one nurse on call or at the jail just in case something like this happens.

There is no real nurse from Friday at 5pm til Monday at 8am. So if the nurse is gone, no medicine is dispensed until she comes back. She is the only one that sees to who gets what. They do medicine as per her instructions, only. The weakend staff, and I mean weak, dispense as per her orders. So if one is arrested on Friday night, Saturday or Sunday...they get no medicine even if they are dying.'They' assume everyone is lying if they feel badly. You have to be passed out and seen to get any help, if you are lucky. And no they don't come into the cells at night. There are camera's but some do not show the beds in some cells. If one is alone there will be no cell mates to holler for help. And that's a fact.

And by the way, not everyone put in jail is guilty. All someone needs is a lying friend or relative to tell the same story. Some people are very talented at manipulating the police, county and PA office.

OMG!!! That's horrible.

I knew of someone that went for a traffic ticket and saw the judge on the day appointed. They had that messed up lawyer Jeffreys. Then there was some sort of mix up, saying they failed to appear, got contempt of court and had to spend two days for nothing. Just awful. I can't understand why that judge just assumes everyone is guilty. Every single person, if you have the unfortunate pleasure of having to go and watch. There's no point of trying to explain the true side of anything. You do not want to have a auto accident or get any kind of ticket in this town/county at all.

I know. I said my comment was about your original broad statement that it shouldn't be a death sentence for ANYONE. My comment nor yours was about the specific inmate being discussed.

Wow! That's not right. Another reason that people don't want to stay in the area.
