Sounds like a politically correct response, but probably does not cover ever reason. I doubt anyone would resign saying that they have lost faith in the business entity they work for or any statement similar. Many companies would be hesitant hiring anyone who talked negatively about their current or previous workplace. Hence the politically correct response.

No she actually does miss her family and wants to be closer.

She had an impossible job and her hands were tied by those that looked after the construction of this conference center. A conference center that can host 1200 people but only have less than 100 parking spots on site is a major construction error. All the other managers of competing conference centers along with a lot of locals recognize this and use it as a reason not to use El Dorado for conferences. Much more land was needed to be acquired to make this have the successful ingredients.

There's plenty of parking around the center. This has been a dead issue for a while now.

These parking areas are private and owned by other businesses. I don't think nearby Brookshires encourages non-shoppers to use their private lot. Also, when you park on the street you are hurting other business owners that need these few parking spaces for their own customers. The reason for purchasing a trolley was to take hotel guests to meetings since there was inadequate onsite parking for them to drive and park their vehicles.

The Chamber had a luncheon there last week while school was in, and nearly 400 people attended. Apparently they didn't have problems parking.

The comic lady brought over 800 people there two years ago, and they didn't have problems parking either.

You are exactly right- I would suggest they acquire and remove the nearby blighted ugly buildings to make the area more attractive. A new structure- with little parking- and ugly nearby properties takes away from the conference center. If you are going to develop the downtown then provide better and more parking.

No. You and your alter ego are exactly wrong. There is plenty of after-hour available parking close by, with even more parallel parking all around the center. Events there have hosted well over 700 people many times! The "ugly properties" you are referring to are privately owned. Developing a downtown has nothing to do with parking. Just look at Hot Springs, Little Rock, Shreveport, Monroe, etc. People park, get put, and WALK! People I'm El Dorado could stand to do the same. Luckily, we do not have misinformed people like you providing real suggestions to decision makers.
