It's wrong period . I agree it's not good to keep a dog on a chain...but it's even worse giving up property rights to the government.
Every little law adds up...

Dogs on chains are left out in the elements! They are left in the hot and cold and it's not fair. I hope the ordinance includes dogs outside the city limits! Who do you contact to report a chained up dog?

This already has people wanting to call in on people a whole lotta dogs are going to be running wild because owners are going to set them free which is going to cause even more issues than a dog on a runner this is just more of our gov trying to tell us what to do with our belongings

A person should not own another loving being if he/she can't take Cate of it. Has nothing to do with "more of our gov trying to tell us what to do" and wah wah bullshit. It's a smart decision made by the city council.

And that's why one day you will wake up and wonder why the government runs every aspect of your life. Laws like these are making the founding fathers rolling over in their graves.

You never really own anything anyway...quit paying taxes or try to deny access to the government and see what happens

you all are too blind the big picture. Every single law is another assault on the constitution and your freedoms

city council are nothing more than communists

Proud not to live in El Dorado city of persecution.

This law is 100% retaliation against willie Mcgee

look at streets in his ward then compare then to the other wards....

live free or die trying

The government has been running aspect of our lives since the beginning of time. The founding fathers WOULD be rolling over in their graves over the lazyass dickheads who are too lazy to fence in their animals, requiring such an ignorant law to be created to motivate our local selfish dumbasses. Sacrifice a few night outs to eat, a concert, buying name-brand clothes on a modest budget for 3-4 months, and you'll have $400-$800 it'd cost to put a fence up yourself or for your elder relative. It's called taking care if your responsibility: your living, breathing pet. Or, keep the pet inside. Or, give it away to someone who can care for it. Show me a law that requires you to have a pet, and I may start giving a damn about your pointless argument.

Dogs ain't pets. They just watch dogs. Bark at peeples and let you know they be around yo crib. If it die, you get another one.

Here's why the ordinance is needed. Regardless if owners who chain their dogs actually feel this way, this is how it appears to be (especially if the pet does die). Perception is more valuable than intentions

Who is the best fence company in El Dorado? You don't lose money on fencing. It will hold its value on your property values.

Does the ordinance declare any minimum size fence?
Is 3 ft by 3 ft big enough?

Weather the dog is in a fence or on a chain the Humid Weather is still going to exist DUM@@S . If the pet owner is sorry the dog will still not have water or food. Chain or fence is not going to make a freaking difference. Just a bunch of dumba$$ people making up stupid rules. When the dogs are running the streets attacking ppl because some ppl may not be able to afford 8 or 9 hundred dollars for a fence. El Dorado law makers Suck!!!!

Then, the dog catcher will pick the dogs up. Ain't nobody gonna be attacked. Luckily, we don't depend on dipshits like you to clean up shit in our streets, much less make laws.

Great point! I see the valid need of making idiots do more than just tie their dog up to a tree or poll. However, this was actually a law proposed by Republicans. More Democrats were against it.
