Valentine day just past. for all the singles out there, we all know how difficult it is to meet someone intelligent and career minded in el dorado and develop a relationship. some of us also know good single people that just can't find a special match, because they don't have a chance to meet many singles at their work or church. lets face it, dating websites just don't do it. how about some feedback on the good people that are out there, or good places to meet them. lets keep it clean, first names only, and what company they work at or places to go. Maybe we can help spark a friendship or romance. thanks for your feedback

Why does a potential mate need to be career minded? Oh, so he can buy you crap? I get it.

Dating websites do work if you can make a pretty picture.

FYI- good, quality single people that are career-minded are snatched up in their 20s around here. You're on the back 9 in this stage of your life, so wait around for a good divorce. Just prepare yourself for the baggage.

thanks for the insight. I think everyone has their own issues that they bring to a relationship. At an older age, you hopefully are mature enough to deal with them. In the last few months Ive gone out a few times, but noticed that there aren't many available people here in town. I can't imagine I'm the only one here.

There actually are available people in this town. They just don't go "out."

I like the idea of this topic, so I'll get it started. I work at Murphy Oil. I moved here from out of state, so don't know many local people. When I talk with some of my female coworkers, we realize that in both our buildings, there are a good number of women and men that are available. Office rules dont let us date. maybe this forum will let others know we are available, and would like to get to know you. To the best of my knowledge here's some good single people at Murphy:

Amy, Wendy, Kim, Beth, Tifany, Kristin, Donna, Katie, Susan, Terry, Julie, Leslie, Tami, Todd, Fila, Matt, Angelo, John, Michael, Scott

Lets hear from the other companies in town.

why dont they go "out"? is it because they think there is no one available? Many aren't into the bar scene, but many of us would like an adult conversation over coffee or dinner. I'd be curious as to what they do to not go stir crazy

Decent list. There's at least that many more that you missed. However, Topix being what it is, I'm not about to list their names here.

As you say, some are not into the bar scene. Some are set in their ways, and already have their social group that they do things with, and probably rarely come into contact with singles in other groups. Some are married to their job / buried by their job. Some have kids that take up most of their time. There are all sorts of reasons.

Bottom line there is no place here in this town that is "date" worthy. Most men around here think their house is the great first date scene.. But really...I'm sure there are great men here in this town as well as great women, but when your looking for a good mate, you won't find her or him because all there is to do here is go to a bar in this town. Then that comes back to do you really want to meet someone in a bar?

I would love it if there were a singles event i this town. Being that no married men or women show up and muddy the waters of actual available people. If Eldo had a singles mixer that wasn't entirely surround by alchol so people could actually be taken seriously and have a good time not necssarily hook'n up but just enjoy other singles company. and maybe we singles could develope our own community and Eldo could prosper for it.
