Tejano star Lopez gets 20 years

Unless he releases a CD from prison, fans are unlikely to hear Tejano star Joe Lopez perform for a long time.

I am a devoted and loyal fan of Joe Lopez. I have posted many comments in The Brownsville Herald to show my support for Joe and his family. Like you, I was shocked to hear of the allegations Joe was being accused of. The real shock came with a guilty verdict and sentencing of 32 years. I just could not believe it, so I began doing some of my own investigating. After reviewing stories the Brownsville Herald published, I strongly feel that there is plenty of "reasonable doubt". I truly feel that he was not given a fair trial.

I strongly feel that he should be given a second chance. In order for Justice to prevail, it is up to us, fans who truly believe in him, to come forward to help Joe and his family. That's why I am taking a few minutes of my time in writing letters to the District Attorney Armando Villalobos and to the District Judge Leonel Alejandro. The goal is to write letters in support of Joe Lopez and flood the office of the DA and the Judge so that they may rethink the verdict that was given to Joe Lopez. This is the only way we can be heard and so they can see how much Joe Lopez is loved, supported and missed by his loyal fans. I am writing to you in hopes that you will help me accomplish the goal in getting Joe Lopez a new trail. I pray that with this new trial or he will be released from jail.

I would like to deliver all letters at one time so that we can overwhelm the District Attorneys office. To all you devoted fans that would like to help support Joe Lopez PLEASE send your letters addressed to the DA office to my email, please including you contact information. What leaves "reasonable doubt" when HIS semen was found on his niece's shorts? I would wonder how a 13 year old came to wear his DNA.

Does not sound like there could be much reasonable doubt. If she was 13 then I bet her parents would
want to know whose DNA it is. They made a mistake on Michael Blair's DNA test, I believe, so that is
possible. Her parents should have it investigated and retester or whatever they do. Michael Blair had a trial, and was in prison, but they let him out, you heard of that Plano case right.

My recollection is that he was exonerated because of the DNA evidence.

Yeah, great. Retest. It's horrible when the innocent are convicted. But if his DNA matches what was on her shorts...then bye bye!

As a true fan for the past 25 years of Mazz, I will always love his music and performance. Not saying that I support him on what he did, if.....I do know that I don't support the fact that people wait years later to report, talk, etc., about what happen to them. Yeah she may be 15 now and pregnant according to comments, that still doesn't give any man any rights to take advantage of children or women. That is something that stays with them forever, so you must let your voice be heard the moment it happens.....still a true fan of the Mazz music!

It means that child molesters/rapist are not received well in prison and usually face consequences for there convictions from the other inmates..........hence the "Welcome party".

I, too, believe that Joe Lopez is innocent. First of all, the girl's mother is said to be an avid drug user, and the girl lived most of her life unsupervised. The girl learned drug use from her mother, and they probably did them together. It has been said that the girl has been sexually active since the age of 11 or 12. I realize that does not mean that she wasn't raped, but it does go to her character. She had been around, and she and her mother dreamed up this scheme to extort money. The girl began telling a lie so she could go back home to her boyfriend. The mother took that lie and ran with it. When blackmail didn't work, they went to the police as a threat which they couldn't turn back on. Incidentally, the girl is six months pregnant and does not know who the father is.

I think his history of drug abuse is well known aswell.I also think his history of having sex with a 14 yr old girl and fathering a child from her was proven aswell so he doesn't look too innocent.
I don't think they could plant the DNA evidence in the crotch of her shorts without him knowing.

Do people just leave them laying around in the Valley after use? I dispose of mine down the toilet after use I don't leave them lying around like trophies.The wife can take birth control or the husband can get fixed so why would a married man need condoms with his own wife?
