I use to believe in the law till a couple of years back when I realized that if you don't have money or strings to pull- as we call it the valley- you have no say so because it's your word against theirs. I am talking about the San Benito Police Department. Many of whom are reading this may agree just like many of you may disagree, cause you haven't gone through the disappointment or you fall in the previous category- you have money or you have strings(buddy law enforcement)

Didn't I tell you what else can the police department do but accuse my family publicly in the newspaper to make themselves look good. In reality they have nothing else better to do but play cops chasing and supposely catching drug dealers. Have you all read the San Benito News, yeah the police raided my house, they gave all the wrong information to the press and stained my family's appearance in my hometown. They said they have been watching our house for quite some time because drugs are being delt, how funny, and what all they see is dumb stubborn young men and women who party in my moms house while my mom works her ass off here upstate just to pay her house, but hey we all have some of those in our family, then they raid my house destroy what my mother has bought with her sweat, and to make it even more realistic they said the escalade was bought with drug money not knowing that my brother in law has his own painting company and because of all his hard work he is where his at and he don't only have one but other nice trucks, but it's hard labor not the cop game. I am angry that they did this because my mom is who they made to appear like a bad person. The San Benito PD needs to keep a watch among themselves and my neighbors who speak about my mom need to see what they have at home before speaking. EL QUE ESTE LIBRE DE PECADO, QUE TIRE LA PRIMER PIDRA TO THE SAN BENITO PD.

San Benito Police Depertment if it isn't the currupted cops huh...The police is so currupted they have the nerve to beat up my younger brother and break his arm, yes he did evaid arrest and they did get a chance to catch him, well the police officers put him in the cop car and started to investigate the crime that was commited, well I guess Officer Cortez felt like there was no lead so he decided to grab my younger brother while handcuff and inside of the cop car and told him to give it up, well unfortantly my brother didnt so Officer Cortez snap my younger brothers arm stuck him back in the car while in pain. Officer Cortez had no remorse for him, anotherwards he didnt care cause he was the law...Well when my brother complain to the detective they didnt want to render aid which is against the law but yet they are the law. My parents decided to hire an attorney, well a person who witness the police brutality came forward which Im very please she was the sergent of the police department so not all police officers are dirty just some.Well my point is San Benito police department are soo currupted if you don't have any money or any pulls from any higher authority then you're chances against the law is "0" simple as that, right now my brother is awaiting trial for that incendent and is looking forward for justice not a settlement check he would love to hear how he is doing in jail.Another thing when you used to be a troubble maker and the police always ran into you for any crimes, that makes you marked right, well if you decide to better you're life and be on the straight road, that gives you the right to be treated as a humanbeing not as a convict right well that's not how San Benito Police officers see it, so any person who used to be a troubble maker and is not now, best advised don't run into them cause these dumb cops think they could lay any case they feel they can get you with trust me been there and back. They have nothing else better to do in there jobs.Oh yeah almost forgot Detective Flores has better things to do like threaten elementary kids which he denies but we all know it's true.

well, first of all, criminals on the street should be treated as they are...."criminals". If they are brave enough to commit a crime then they should not put up a fight and cause harm to the officer(s) when being arrested. As for the "supposed" Sgt. that supposedly came forward.....isn't she an acquiantence of the criminal!!!!....now we know why she stepped up to defend the criminal instead of backing up her own department.

That's a good question. A trooper friend of mine informed me of a situation that occurred where a female officer of SBPD (the slender one) interfered with a DPS stop and was coaching the criminal (against the DPS trooper). She was supposed to assist her fellow DPS Officer not coach the criminal against the DPS trooper. Yet, I never heard of the disciplinary given to her...Maybe cuz no disciplinary action was given to her by her superiors. Now that's being corrupt. These type of cops need to get out of the Police Department and moved into the jail system or at least out of the Department to stop the corruption. Who can we contact for more information on this case to see what disciplinary action was given to her or at that point to check her whole file for all reports against her???? Should we look into contacting FBI? what do you think?

There are good police officers and there are bad ones. The public should not interfere with their opinions on what any police officer has done quite simply because they were not there at the time. The people who have been arrested and raided and supposedly beaten have committed crimes or been involved in some kind of illegal activity during those incidents. What you ignorant people cant realize is that the police are here to protect and prevent such things from happening and have been doing so for quite a while now. Especially in the city of San Benito which is a hell hole full of drugs, drunks, and violent offenders. To the girl from out of state complaining of her mothers hard work, why the heck does she have these losers taking care of her house and there had been many a complaint of drug dealing going on there. And to the other people, ask yourself how many times you have been arrested by these officers or how many times your family members have been in hot water with the police. Only then could you judge the officers of the department for simply doing there job or not. Stop hating on that police department or police in general because you wouldnt want to live in a world without them.

I see people can disagree, well I can agree...as a former resident of San Benito,I've seen too many crimes an officer has commited, for an example I'm not sure if anyone can remember the time when a couple of officer's were charge for drug trafficing, not only that a former sheriff too, well my point is people just don't understand,to me I would not allow myself to go back and raise my kids there cause yes it is a harsh town and yes there is alot of drugs but only the police officer's can take care of that but what's the use if they simply work under the table for drug dealers okay like a year or two ago a San Benito police officer was a bouncer at Buccanas in Brownsville (night club), supposely he caught a person with cocaine and had detained the person and had a Brownsville PD take that one person to jail but remember he was off duty later on the night he get's pulled over by his own kind when they searched him,Brownsville police department found a bag of cocaine in his position when San Benito PD investigated him they gave him a urine test which he did manage to fail.I guess what I'm trying to say is whoever said about contacting the FBI I think instead of that they should contact internal affairs.

THE EAGLE PASS,LAREDO AREAR AND LOWER RIO GRANDE LAW ENFORCEMENT IS THE MOST CORRUPT LAW ENFORCEMENT IN THE NATION. ALOT OF DRUG TRAFFICKING,LAW ENFORCEMENT,POLITICIANS,LAND DEVELOPERS ALL INVOLVE IN IT,ALOT OF NEPTOISUM INVOLVE. THE ONLY WAY TO LIVE WELL IN THE VALLEY IS IF YOU HAVE A DEGREE,OR A LAW ENFORCEMENT JOB. IF YOU HAVE A $200,000-$500,000 HOUSE IN THE VALLEY,YOU EITHER A DRUG DEALER OR WON THE LOTTERY. ANOTHER SIGN THAT A VALLEY POLITICIAN IS LIKED TO DRUG DEALERS IS WHEN YOU CAMPAIGN SIGNS,ALL OVER THE COUNTY,EVERY TIME YOU TURN YOUR HEAD YOU SEE THE CAMPAIGN SIGN VERY WHERE. THAT'S WHAT'S KEEPING THE VALLEY ALIVE,DRUG TRAFFICKING. NOBODY'S LIGIT IN THE VALLEY.

Look, plain and simple. If you dont work in law enforcement or for one of those particular agencies, you all should just keep your comments to yourself. There is a big group of great police officers in San Benito and in the Rio Grande Valley and dont let the rotten apples spoil the whole bunch. You all dont know the stresses that a law enforcement job can place on a person and their families and i would like to see you all try it before you make your comments. But most of you are just a bunch of losers who couldnt accomplish that feat even if you tried.

I've read all your blogs and let me tell everyone something.. that to a certain point, everyone is right. San Benito has it's problems, but we should stop looking at all the little stuff and look up at who's running the show. Not one person does what he or she wants without them knowing they have someone to back them up. And in the valley, it's all about who you know rather than what you know. But until someone steps up against these people, it will always remain the same. But good luck trying to find a job or run a business in San Benito if you do.

for those who dont know the incident in brownsville. the officer was working off duty and located a person in the bar with cocaine. the officer contacted the jurisdiction agency like he is suppose to but they did not want to take custody of him. the off duty officer had no choice but to destroy the evidence of cocaine. stupids he was not stopped and search the whole incident happened at once. AGAIN, GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU JUDGE.

Well first of all my point is instead of knowing the incident by reading the newspaper,I was there to witness what had happened,I guess all I'm trying to say is that San Benito police officers are dirty and are well known for transporting drugs and for takeing advantage of there Authority "police brutality" so I guess Miss.Know Your Facts you need to get a better view of the department before you say anything maybe what I'm trying to say is move to San Benito and maybe you would understand....

Another reason why all the talented and smart Tejanos in the Valley or San Benito never stay around for the benefit of the city. Tejanos in the Valley are their own worst enemy, and God forbid if you become succesful and have resentment from you own people just because they never wanted to get off their fat ass and welfare. I might visit my own City someday, but will never stay due to the utter ignorance of Tejanos or Tex-Mex people. I myself am a Tex-Mex but moved out as soon as I graduated from San Benito High School. We will never be strong politically or econimically as long as the resentment of wealthy or succesful Tejanos is around. Better to blame some else than themselves and call us "sell out's".

i have read the blogs and as a former employee i will tell you that san benito pd officers cover each other up for their crimes committed...the department arrest thiefs and corrupted civilians yet its starts from the department more like the headquarters of theives. ex; the incident with two fellow officer arrested for drug trafficking having the nerve to drive stolen vehicles into secured area LOL right in front of their noses, the only reason the operation stopped was because the officer in question had knowledge of the operation;pulled over the undercover FBI agent and took the drugs & vehicle. the officers would still be employees with the department flowing the drugs in our city. I guess the other officers got upset because they did not get a piece of the pie...FYI:there is no such thing as internal affairs...besides having affairs....in that department..the so called IA 8HRS SHIFTS PAST TIME ARE HAVING BREAKFAST at 8am sitting at the office driving around looking busy may i add with our tax dollars, lunch ,and by 4p and lets go and what is the outcome of the complaint; officer did no wrong doing and five lbs heavier and if your lucky paid suspension and meant vacation.i will say it is a shame yet the truth if you do not have family with pd or city your nobody...one day things will change we can only hope for change but the corruption is always going to be there unless they replace administration with outside hires and people whom really want the best for the city of san benito...
