MAUNO IS THE WORST
|
Not only is he uninformed, he is so darn patronizing. He didn't bring in $10 million to Torrance - but he lays claim to it at EVERY candidate's forum and in all his literature.
Why is this guy running again anyway?
All of the money he has raised is either his own or from developers (and even they wont give him much).
DO NOT VOTE FOR MIKE MAUNO!

Jean Adelsman could NOT have said it better regarding Mike Mauno. I wouldn't vote for anyone whose mentor was Dan Walker. Plus, I feel he was totally useless as a city councilman. Thanks, Jean, for "fact checking" for this guy who wants to help govern us. Perish the thought.

No Home School

Home school should REQUIRE a state approved curriculum, just as private school should. No parent should have any "right" to fill their kid's head with fluff.

Maunos Dream
|
It was always Mike Mauno's dream to become a City Councilman in Torrance. He got to live his dream, and 2 years ago the voters of Torrance ended it.
You got unelected, Mike. Please just drop out and go home. Nothing more sad than somebody who doesn't know when to quit.
Mike Mauno = the Hillary Clinton of Torrance

Good for Lieu
|
While I almost never agree with Ted Lieu, his letter today is right on the mark. Now, let him put his money where his mouth is and get the Legislature to change the law, explicitly exempting home schools.

[QUOTE who="No parent should have any "right" to fill their kid's head with fluff.[/QUOTE]Who "owns" children, their parents or "THE STATE" (as represented by the Teacher's Union")? What is "fluff"?(Al Gore's propaganda or science?) I suspect that if the Breeze readers actually examined the state curriclula, they would be APALLED by propaganda, disinformation and outright b.s. that is pumped into children by our "professional" unionized teachers and the "academics" who make up the curricula. Mike Got The Message

Apparently, Mike has read the email from Exxon Mobil explaining how they DO pay their fair share in property taxes as he didn't mention his "going after Mobil" at the last Candidate's Forum. Good idea to drop that promise to get elected.
We may forgive, but not forget, Mauno going after Scotto two years ago by signing Walker's "hit piece" which was a vicious campaign tactic to try and turn the tide for Walker. It didn't work then and "blue sky" promises aren't going to work now.
Time to move on Mike !

No Home School wrote: ...No parent should have any "right" to fill their kid's head with fluff. Are you totally deranged? If parents don't have the "right", as you put it, to teach their children and instill in them the core values and information that is important for success, then who does? The Nanny State Government...they who can't even run their OWN lives and have destroyed our Nation? You obviously have no children, or you wouldn't make such an incredibly stupid statement. Maybe you like having self-serving, neo-Marxist, anti-American, pro-elitist, emasculating agendas shoved up YOUR rectum by the State, but most of us who are still capable of independent thought do NOT, and categorically refuse to allow "teachers" to infect our kids with such sewage. For my part, I have filled my kid's head with the "fluff" that weak sisters like you are useless to society and are to be scorned and ridiculed into extinction. Please feel free to respond to this by calling me a NeoCon, a hater, a racist, and any other buzzword claptrap phrase that your Masters have burned into your obviously Liberal, underdeveloped, malfunctioning brain; I'll look forward to it. Hillary said it: "it takes a village"; you are obviously that village's idiot.
