I respect that an officer(s) should protect themselves and exercise caution in situations like this. However, witnesses stated the vehicle rolled over several times until it ended right side up. This seems reasonable since the reports said he went of the ramp at up to 80 mph.
Although the officers should be cautious, they should also look at the entire situation before deciding to shoot to kill. The man rolled over several times, so he was likely disoriented with a possible concussion. Apparently he was shot near his vehicle, so it is unlikely he made a charge toward the officers. The TV report stated many shots were fired and the vehicle was riddled with bullets. The statement that the officers felt threatened that he had a weapon did not make sense to me. And we have heard no report that a weapon was found.
To me, this is not a situation to be trigger happy, and now his wife, children, father, mother, siblings, and the entire community has to live with the loss of this wonderful person.
It is entirely possible that this man was grieving the suicide of his younger brother only 3 months ago and perhaps lost control of his emotions. He may have endangered lives with such high speeds, but he didn't deserve to be murdered.
Traveling at such high speeds at 2:30 in the morning - is he drunk? If so, are drunks a threat to shoot anyone? Is he trying to escape a scene of a crime? Not likely at 2:30 in the morning. All I'm saying is looking at the situation as a whole, the officers should recognize that there is no significant threat on the officers life!
We now must mourn for this loss. But it is also hoped that justice be served and that lessons are learned for the next situation to avoid such horrible consequences.

There is absolutely no telling how many lives this man endangered while leading the police on this high-speed chase - not only his own and those of the officers, but those of other drivers and pedestrians on his route of attempted escape! This showed a complete disregard for life and wellbeing of others! And now, because he paid the supreme price for his actions, he is a "victim?" Had he stopped when the officers put on their lights, NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED! It's called CONSEQUENCES! I do offer condolences to the family, but cannot share this view of this young man as a victim.

So according to you,
1. Running from the cops is a capital crime.
2. Police should act as judge, jury, and executioner.
Is that the kind of country you really want to live in?
Please don't move into my neighborhood.

Pretty soon there will be less and less cops as you sue happy jigs and splibs get it out of your mind to go out like this clown did in the morning. Small wonder the cops pulled him over and then the punk probably tried to be froggy with his butter muscles.
Now, the question is. Is it better to be cop suicide dead or in Prison with Cletus as you papa room mate for life. Invariably, like it happens the raped one kills the other in the middle of the night. The guards, asleep, won't hear anything. Then you are in for the big Bitch
