You must really be stupid! It just so happens that I'm a single mother with 3 kids because their father died 2 years ago. I work and go to school full time but still need a little help because my employer doesn't offer insurance and my pay is, in no way adequate, to care for 3 children without assistance. But I can assure you...it's NOT because I'm lazy or on drugs! I hate to see how your grandchildren will turn out with a close minded, hateful grandparent like you!!!

*Clapping hands* Amen to that Opinion in Etown. Just remember there are numerous scriptures in the Bible that tell us not to judge others. Most of 1 Corinthians teaches that God has his own punishment for the strong and wealthy man that doesn't help his weak or poor brother/friend. At the end of the day for all the hateful posts made on here placing judgement over another persons personal life situations without knowing them... Karma.

Well, I have to say this has been entertaining.I would like to declare that all fat people are not lazy or dirty ,nor do they let the dog eat the food stamps.however if you find that dog, I want him. I think I can dress him up and claim him on taxes .but it would be my luck he would get us on the today show and spill the beans.

hey I am sure glad that we live in a country where we can help single mothers like opinion in etown.I am sorry for your lose.I know you are doing the best you can.some of us don't have any insurance.like you my life took a turn a few years back when my husband became disabled.God bless you .

Maybe if you knew their situation you would be nicer. I am a young women (early 20's)with 3 children, 1 being my step son that we got custody of because his mother abonded him, and my husband came down with cancer and is unable to work. We dont have money to dress nice or get name brand clothes so we wear t-shirts and stuff like that. We do take baths so we dont stink. But you never know what kind of situation you will have.
A poster that I seen at the cancer center "be nice to everyone for everyone is going through some type of battle".
If I see someone give me a dirty look when I whip out my medical card or food stamp card, you just might get a dirty look back. God bless you and I hope you fall on your face one day so you will have to see how embarassing it is to axually have to live on assistance!

You need to re-evaluate your parenting skills. Make SURE when you become a grandparent at a very young age that you pay all of her bills including medical. Also, think twice before you go and apply for help when you lose your job for no reason, or if your employer finds out that you have been on topix.com in your spare time trashing others for no reason. You are an asshole!!

becareful what you wish for.. my husbande has a job and I a medical conditions,so I can't work and no I have no medical card..so I am left with a sick kidney at the nercy of u of l doctors that prioritze and decide if u are sick enought to be seen.my husband does the best he can.. and yes i get food stamps only till i can better myself..so b4 u call some 1 a turd cutter..smell out your own back door

I think they need to give food stamps to the elderly and make the ones who want to pop out kids left and right get a job..Ive known people who worked their whole life and didnt have crap when they got older..then you have people who set around poppin out kids getting everything free..the only thing they should get is the free medical for the kids thats it..get your ass out like everyone else and work..and close the borders!!

How about if everyone who receives government aid of ANY kind for over 6 months do not get a tax return. At least they could support themselves a little then by paying for thier own government assistance. I also think for adults on their insurance they have higher co-pays like all of us. They have no problem paying for cigarettes. Also I think with food stamps you should only be allowed to get basics. If you want french fries buy potatoes, cookies, buy flour and other items. Maybe then they would get tired of working so hard to eat for free and WANT to do better. Of couse there is few exceptions. Some truly need help and can not work, but far too many abuse it.

the government loves to control people with hand outs! the longer they keep the large lady in front of you at wal mart "hooked" on junk food, the more they control her. then they get the next generation,them junk food fed kids! assistance is neccesary for everyone at some point(parent,friends,governmen t)lifetime assistance is for the handicapped!!!!!

I know people who cut their hours/days back at work and refuse to get married to their baby's daddy so they can keep their government aid-- medical, food, tax exemptions, etc. It's these people who make me sick that we all have to pay with our taxes. I have no sympathy for people who intentionally get handouts.
