I knew when I was just a kid that God didnt put a dog (especially man's best friend) on the face of this earth that was destructive and a fierce killer. The best dog I ever had was a pitt, she was blonde and beautiful and nothing but gentle and loving. She was strong -- there is and was no doubt and could do the things you read and have heard about----but here is the kicker>>>>she didnt!!!!Pitts can be loved and trusted and should NEVER BE ABUSED NOR USED FOR FIGHTING!!!

I have a pit mix- almost 12 years old, and she is the most WONDERFUL, loving creature God ever put on this earth! I'd walk in front of a bullet for her!

I got her from the biggest no-kill shelter in this country....no one else wanted her...but I took her home, and we became best friends instantly and she has enriched my life for the last 10 years.

I rescued a lab/chow mix from a farmer who was going to shoot her, and she is now best friends with my pit-mix!

I would give my life for these sweethearts!

I love my pitts, they are sweet and kind. Never ever attempted to hurt anyone or anything. Even played with my pet bunny.

very smart dog, my uncle didntlike her he cut her collar and she ran right toward the road. he wouldnt let us have her in the house so we had to chain her up when he was at home, but when he would leave on the on the weekends i woud let her in the house never used the bathroom in side the house.

can you take care of this prescious loving animal or not. the uncle might need standing up to. get others to back you and move your best friend in your room and love them and care for them and then let us all watch as the uncle of little intellegence attempts to hurt you or the dog. woe is him---he should have backed off years ago apparently!!!

I think you misunderstand. His/her uncle cut the dog's collar, and the poor thing ran into the road and got hit and killed:(

If it were my uncle, I'd shoot the bastid! What a piece of crap- he essentially killed the poor dog.(Scary that his nieces/nephews apparently live with him)

We have a young PITBULL and he is just the biggest baby you ever saw.Alot of people really put these dogs down as being such a bad dog,PITBULLS are just like any other dog,it's all in the treatment they get and how you teach them or at least that's what I think.Although I have heard here lately about several PITBULL attacks,but again how was that dog treated?But anyways we love our dog and wouldn't take anything for him,he is our big ole baby and we love him lots'.I will say that our dog is very protective over us,his family for sure.We love him and I think they are beautiful dogs.

You are absolutely right. The trouble comes when someone on a "macho trip" gets a pit because he thinks it'll make him look tough. They teach the poor dogs to be mean- and pits are so fiercely loyal, they'll do anything for their master or to protect him.
Those kinds of people are truly fiends- as they corrupt such wonderful, emotional, loving animals.

That is the way my neutered Pitbull is. People have always given Pitbulls a bad name. My Pitbull is almost 11 yrs. old and nothing but a big baby that I love to death. He gets a long with my cat and has never tried to hurt her. It's how they are raised. If you teach them to be mean they thats what they end up to be and it hurts the good ones. Pitbulls are not the only supposely mean dogs there are.
