new school property

Does anyone else find it interesting that Mr. Brooks came over the mountain to buy a piece of property just a few days before the school board decided to build a new school on a piece of ground other than what they had already picked out? They abandoned the property directly across from the current Clinch school, saying that it needed too much grade work, soon as Mr. Brooks bought the land on down the road a mile or so. Of course he had inside info, and knew exactly where to look. I doubt that he had ever been across the mountain before that, much less be interested in property in that area. From what I have heard, he sold the twenty acres to the board for enough to clear the rest of it. Im sure they will need more space at a latter date for softball fields and such, so he wont have to sit on that too long. And by the way, that piece now needs considerable grade work too. Just another example of how politics works in this county. If you happen to be in the click, you have priviledge to a lot of insider information, and no one finds it questionable. Just like the property that Joseph Rogers School now sits on, it was on the market for a while before they decided to help out Mr. Carroll, and take it off his hands. The planning commission deemed it unsuitable for other types of businesses, but it was ok for a school, after Mr. Carroll got the listing. Boy, do we ever need some new leadership in this town. The rich just get richer, and I know Mr. Brooks needed that money.
