Investigating takes time and you're not helping your case by advertising it here. I think all the druggies come here to post who's a snitch and who's not.

Why does your doctor refuse to give you opiates? I'm assuming he/she is familiar with your medical condition.
oh please

i agree with possum.i go to holston medical group and i would like to think they would only give them if you needed them.
it is embrassing now to go to the doctor when you really have something like a bad back.
i took my granddaughter to rogersville hospital because she had fallen. several people were sitting there rubbing their backs and grimacing at the pain. i said to my sister"gosh, how did all these people hurt their backs?" she laughed at me cause i was so behind in the times. she said they are here for painkillers. sure enough, when they went outside to smoke none needed help walking out or walkig back in but as soon as they sat down...oh, the pain.

Some doctors will not prescribe opiates to anyone with chronic conditions because it is against their policies and procedures. Short term- like you broke your foot, arm, fell, etc is usually the only thing they will prescribe for.(and maybe only a few at a time) This is because of all the "doctor shopping" that has gone on and physicians are ultimately the ones getting in trouble for it. There is a prescription drug monitoring program now though so those people are slowly but surely getting caught since they have ruined it for those who need it.

The only good pain clinic is a closed pain clinic. If your regular doctor, that has cared for you for some time, wont prescribe it, the chances are that you DON'T NEED IT. Get used to pain. Spinal biffida occulta! Please, that has no corelation with painfull symptoms! Disk trouble< 80% of WORKING people have the same issue, yet work everyday. Quit whinning, your living off the government as is. You have a free ride, why do you want us to pay for you to get high to!!!!

AMEN! We raise hell when a methadone "clinic" wants to open, but pain clinics are springing up everywhere and where's the outcry? They both are enableing drug addicts."spinal biffida occulta"? Sounds really painful unless you know this turkey is just lazy. His primary doctor would have treated him appropriatly, but ole deadbeat wants some Oxycontin to maybe buy some Christmas presents with.Yeah, right!

"Help," have u tried Beardon Healthcare (Dr. McNeil) n Knoxville? I have several friends that go there. As far as Morristown Pain Consultants, I was refered there from a previous doctor & did some research online & spoke w my PCP- he said that "they just want 2 turn people n2 drug addicts." I receive roxi's from my PCP 4 pain from a car accident n 1997. They only concern any doctor that I have seen has is that I'm so young & n several years it may b hard 2 control my pain. U should really try talking 2 ur PCP- mine has helped me so much. That will keep u out of all the PM doc drama. Ur doctor WILL have u sign a pain contract tho (@ least my doctor had me sign 1.) Do u have an up-2-date MRI? If not, speak w him/her about getting 1 so that they can SEE what ur talking about (that should help u out if they r concerned about u not needing the meds.) Also, I DO NOT recommend Pinecrest Pain Management n Johnson City! I saw Dr. Grindstaff many, many years ago (b4 I was w my current PCP) & he was giving me shots n my back every other Saturday, along w giving me 120 lortabs) & he hit my sciatic nerve & still have a place that doesn't feel right going down the back of my leg. Needless 2 say, I did not return after that & have been w my current doctor since then. GOOD LUCK!:)

Mst of the people that scream about all pain clinics being bad have no idea of what is really going on.

Sure some are bad, just like anything else. But regular doctors can only prescribe so much for so long.

I have a terminal condition that causes constant clotting, swelling and nerve damage. I was referred to a pain clinic by a UT specialist. There are no cures for my condition, and it severely limits my lifestyle. Without my meds, I would be living off of the government. WIth them, I am productive for as long as I have left in this world.

So before you rant about generalities, realize that others have problems that cannot be managed other ways.

As for people who are addicts, before you critize, ask yourself two things:

What have I done to help?

What problems do I have in my life that should concern me more?

Perhaps church would help you learn compassion. If you are already a member, I think you are missing the whole point of Christ's word.

And as for you sick of druggies, I can understand your frustration. From your opinion on a medical condition I suppose that you are an MD. NOt a nurse, or CNA, or a PA, or NP, but an OD or MD.

If not, you have no factual things to say about the condition.

If you are an MD, unless you have treated this patient, you have nothing factual to say about his condition.

And you wish that the only thing that makes my final days bearable was closed, and are no good.

Please show a little more compassion in the future.

Reading people criticize others without knowing jack about their condition disgusts me. If you're in pain and need PM therapy, go for it. Don't worry about these stupid posts - you'll have enough of a time convincing your doctor to give you enough meds to make your pain tolerable - mainly because of idiots like "Sick of druggies" and "Possum" who love to cast judgment upon others without the slightest inkling of what they're talking about. Our doctors and governments are so afraid of junkies ruining their own lives that they are severely hampering normal people who need PM to live lives of dignity. "Possum" and "Sick of Druggies" need to try living with daily doses of nearly intolerable pain before running off at the mouth.

Have any of you people needing pain meds ever thought of pain blockers. It's an embedded electronic device that interferes with the pain receptors that are causing the pain. Pills can actually cause more illnesses besides addiction. Some people I know have had them implanted for back pain and shoulder joint pain and they love them. No addiction and the severity of the pain is reduced or eliminated. http://www2.counton2.com/cbd/lifestyles/healt...
