itions of his probation.
Fact is there are TWO separate stories to report in this matter and The Berkshire Eagle is trying to combine both into one in order to dilute the local significance of each, and in an obvious effort to protect Mr. Stracuzzi and his local reputation.
One story is about the local office of the Massachusetts Probation Department which, for as yet unexplained reasons, has failed to follow through on a specific Order of Conditions contained in a Probation Order issued by the York Superior Court.
The second story is about a leading Berkshire County public figure's fall from grace, and the man's apparent failure to follow an Order of Conditions that was issued in his criminal case as a condition of the Maine court's agreeing to accept Mr. Stracuzzi's guilty plea on a set of lesser criminal charges.
It is also about the up-til-now successful cover-up, ongoing for six years now, that has resulted in keeping this entire matter out of local and statewide media and hence the public domain.
It remains to be seen whether The Eagle will publish all the facts it now has in its possession in this matter or whether the newspaper's editors will continue to bury, cover up, water down, and omit relevant details concerning a story about which The Eagle was first alerted at least five months ago in January, 2010.
Greylock Federal Credit Union, for which Mr. Stracuzzi has served as president and CEO for many years, is one of The Berkshire Eagle's largest advertisers, accounting for a hefty percentage of the local ad revenues flowing into the coffers of Media News Group, parent company of The Berkshire Eagle, North Adams Transcript, and Bennington Banner.
For purposes of clarification, the information that was passed along yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon to The Berkshire Eagle newsdesk was information that had been obtained just minutes earlier as a result of a telephone call made to the office of the Clerk of the York County (Maine) Superior Court.
The bulk of the detailed information obtained from that call has not been in any report yet published by The Berkshire Eagle in reference to the matter of Greylock Federal Credit Union CEO Angelo C. Stracuzzi's alleged run-in with the law in Biddeford, Maine in 2004
