I am ashamed to say that I live in EHC... When we bought our home here 16 years ago, it was not that bad... or at least I was young enough to not realize it. Now i have two children in middle school and it is scary... There are so many good for nothings that take advantage of the system. They sell drugs, live in low income apts. All they do is take take take... they blame everyone else for thier problems instead of taking responsibilty for them. My heart goes out to the families of the people that were shot... The ones that were shot are NOT THE VICTIMS... their familes are the victims... these men chose to live in danger... and they only put our children in danger... We need to end the low income housing for ignorant people who are able to work and don't. Save it for the people who are really in need... We need a bigger NON-Corrupt Police presence in the village and apts.... We need to be Parents to our Children and not thier Friends...We need to teach them about wanting more then being a thug... a my babies daddies... a druggie ... a drug dealer... a KILLER

OK you kno nothing about this situation. these men that were killed and hospitalized where no longer drug dealers. they were in the past but not recently . secondly they didnt live in these apartments they had homes a house that they lived in which means yes they payed bills without support from welfare and the rest of the benefits that the govt allows people to have. SO YES THEY WERE THE VICTIMS. so kno what everyone is trying to say is once u open yourself up to selling drugs and then quit you are faulted for the rest of your life. it shouldnt be this way they changed. but some people wont allow others to change and get away from that life. yes shawn was hard but not a thug he was also a ladys man girls adored him. sandy was a guy who got right and wass focused 100% on his family.

I couldn't agree with the EHC mother more. Enough of the enabling and hold these people accountable and stop with the give me's. It is such an easy fix but our st of NJ with its liberalism nothing gets done and these thugs have too many rights and they know they will get off and by in the end. Its blk and wht to me. EHC should be patrolling the streets more and not allowing these numb nuts hanging out in-front of the store fronts. They don't enforce things and it is out of control. Way too much lax. I wish society would start treating these people like they do dogs. there seems to be a no tolerance with dogs when they lash out etc yet we give these thugs ongoing chances. I would put my money of a dog to be rehabbed before any human.

I know enough... I see it everyday... There is no excuse... I say it now and i will always say this... None of them are victims... They chose this life... even if they "got out of it" They will still always be a part of it. The Real Victims are the families involved. These type of people are corrupting our children.. Our children look up to adults to show them how to be... The young children in EHC - especially in the village and the appts do not have anyone to look up to... They think that it is normal to look forward to that monthly check... they think it is normal not to work - saty home all day and then let the children wander... Now, there are a few who truely do need help... But as far as i can see there are more that are abusing the system then not... If we as adults keep a tight rein on our children, then maybe.. just maybe we can avoid the senseless tragedies that happened last week.

"Who "is" in charge of this forum?" Americans are losing our sense of decency and morality...let's at least try to preserve our language.
