I feel really bad for this family, however I also feel bad for Tony. I worked with Tony and he is such a nice person with some deep problems. I am not saying that he does not deserve them to through the book at him, i just wish he had gotten the help he needed- then this family would still have a father and he would not have to live withj this the rest of his life.

Book him for life. Drunk driving kills. Speeding at 80mph on Egg Harbor Road is also suicidal. Good thing at that time there weren't kids going to the park or library.

I am very saddened by the thought of a young man watching his dear father burn to death in a car due to a drunk drivers lack of pre-judgment. I beleive that we all have judgement factors that help us to determine whats right and wrong. And no one is perfect. Yet prior to having a drink we often think of who will drive us if we drink too much, or can I drive? Am I able to drive? John is gone, and his family will grieve forever the life of a man that was a servant to the community and a family man. And quite frankly I dont think that life in jail is enough any more for a DUI/ or vehicular homicide. I think a death sentence would send a message. A clear message that if you take some ones life for careless judement, than yours will be taken as well.
I feel for the family and my thoughts and prayers go out to them. Im sure Rogiero what ever his name is had a nice time while he was getting drunk and did not even realize what he had done evan at the seen. He slept it off in jail and the next day could not remember a thing. I just hope he at some point in his life developes a consiensa.

He deserves to have the booke thrown at him. And right in his face at that. I know Tony.. I sat many of times and drank with him at that bar(we all know which one). He has problems, the guy next to him had problems and I had problems. You drink smart. That was one thing Tony did NOT do. And the bartenders there. The girl that served him.....she should lose her job and be fined also. They don't flag people over there and maybe if she did....John would be here today. Well he drank because he thought he had problems.... I wonder what he thinks about his problem now! They should close that bar...and little MS.(somekind of nut hmmmmmm)should be asking god for forgiveness. Because if she did her job...instead of trying to be everyones friend...it could have made a big difference. She has let me walk out of there so drunk...she didn't know if I was driving or not she didn't care....they don't look for peoples keys anymore on the bars...all they look for are their tips! God Bless John's family.

I so agree. That's a heavy traveled road. And there are always people walking. Tonay was a nice gut and so was John. But Tony was 28...but acted like 18. Everyone knew this, and the more he drank the younger he got. So he should have been "cut off" by the bartender. And then told not to leave, or have a police escort. She(bartender) I guess is too proud to do that. When your that despreat for friends I guess you let things like that slide. I sorry for the bidderness and I know this is about John...but how can they not do anything about where he was drinking at, and how he was able to leave that bar in the condition he was in....Does anyone else wanna know this?????

You'll should stop blaming the next person and be responsible for your own mishaps. It's like a Christian blaming everthing on the devil. Well, guess what thats why God gave you free WILL and with that comes consequences. Which path will you chose? God give comfort to the Cruz Family and strength to carry on.

ruggerio should be hung....better yet i think someone should set him on fire and let his family watch him burn to death! make an example of a selfish fucker who thought his problems were worse than everyone else's that he had the right to act out and blame his dumb drunk irresponsible ass on shit that happened in the past. Yea his father died when he was young and whatever else may have happened so we've all heard, but guess what it is reality and it happens to millions of people everyday but you don't see those people using it as an excuse to drink beyond their normal alcohol level and act stupid or take the life of an innocent man do you??? How many DUI's does it take to lose your liscense?? This ass should not have been allowed to even have a license after his second DUI, i mean correct me if im wrong here, most of us have heard that he had multiple ones. Yea the dumb girl that served him more than he should've drank deserves to lose her job and i hope it bothers her every night for the rest of her life but the real focus here needs to be on the careless asshole who fucked up more than his fair share and eneded up taking soemone else's father/brother/friend/son, a precious life and wonderful man....i think as ruggerio sits in his lonely jail cell there should be pictures of john posted around his cell so that every minute of his pathetic life he has to look at the wonderful man that he took from this earth! i hope it tortures him so much that it makes him want to kill himself! this man is scum and should be treated as scum, he should no longer have any right as a human or american citizen! death penalty for the fucker!!

o and by the way....this 30 year old so called "MAN" needs to act like a man for the first time in his life and hold himself accountable for his actions and not blame his actions and wrong doings on someone or something else....he needs to deal with the consequences of his actions and get what he deserves......be a "MAN" for once in his life.....anyone agree??

He was an immature, manipulative child-man misguided by his parents who were enablers and had no idea how to control him and did not exercise recommended preventive measures to this known drinking and gambling excuse for a human. And was he ever a liar and con-man. He deserves the punishment he gets which is miniscule compared to his ever so irresponsible crime. He has an extensive record of DUI and accidents. His previously wrecked truck from his drinking escapades sat in the back of his driveway, inoperable. Perhaps his mom kept it as a reminder to him but it did no good. By the way, don't blame the bartender, this kid drank anywhere and anytime he could

He got 5-10 years which I think is a light sentence for killing a man. He should never be able to drive. He will have an interlock system that he has to breathe into to start the car. It won't start if it detects alcohol. This conniver will probably start it then hit the bottle or drive someone elses car like his mother who was stupid enough to let him drive her own car at times and yes he drank and was caught by police and let go. Too bad he wasn't charged or he would have gotten a heavier sentence which he deserves. He is a sociopath, a menace to society. I fear the thought of him being back in society. He'll repeat his offenses when he gets out I guarantee you. Watch out, he might kill you.
