I thought the same thing. I don't know what is going on.

The last month when I clicked on it said it was doing maintenance and all of a sudden it disappeared. I think Matt had a lot of issues with it. I miss it, I hope someone else takes over, Brian was awesome.

www.effinghamforum is a good local forum. Its pretty new though.

i've sent matt and amanda several emails and they don't reply. i also think it was up for sale. they announced that only about 4 weeks before it closed down.

There is a new blog site for effingham county online at effinghamspeaks.com . The homepage is still being finished, but the blog site is up and running.

I posted a comment earlier. To post you have to register, but other than that, all comments can be done without registering. Nice site, just started a week ago.

Fingham.net is a generic copy of the blog started a few weeks ago at effinghamspeaks.com . Info available and options are exactly the same, only less appealing. effinghamspeaks.com was designed for people who miss talkaboutham and was made to be as user friendly as possible.
Fingham.net actually tried to post their site on effinghamspeaks.com to try to pull users to this generic site.

I am the admin for Fingham.net and I'm offended by the fact that you think the site is a copy. You'll notice a lot of duplication between Fingham.net , Effinghamspeaks and EffinghamForum, along with The Effingham Daily News. Why? Because we're all talking about the same thing!

EffinghamSpeaks is very unappealing. It's just a generic WordPress site that I could have thrown together in 10 minutes. The site has hideous blue and green colors that clash, the homepage is attrocious and hard to navigate, and all the posts have to be approved by the Admin for EffinghamSpeaks, J***** T***** of Altamont.

Fingham.net uses the popular phpBB software that many people are already familiar with. It also has a few mods that add cool features like chat. I also have years of experience running different websites and phpBB forums and it's all showing in Fingham.net .

To call Fingham.net a generic copy of effinghamspeaks is ludicrous. How does a blog convert to a forum? I'm not asking for ugly dog pictures. I'm asking and allowing people to share their opinions on things that matter to all of us in Effingham County.

Fingham.net is new, but it's growing. If you can think of ways you'd like Fingham.net to improve, I'm gladly listening and hope to create a site that everybody can enjoy. I invite everybody to stop by and check it out.

Mayor, you are the reason talkaboutham was not renewed by posts like this. Personal attacks from people like you kill sites meant for good.
Grow a backbone and do what you have to do without trying to hurt others in the process. Keep in mind everyone does not care how you think things are done, it's just your right to comment.
If you want your site, or any other to carry on, you are going to have to learn to that. effinghamspeaks is built to be user friendly, not overdone. Sorry it does not satisfy you, but that was not the goal. Thanks for visiting though. LOL
