Anyone who would attack his own Grandfather is a piece of crap, And who keeps that much money lying around anyway? Smells funny if you ask me.

Shouldn't you be sticking up for him? You seemed to in the previous thread about this.

Agreed. Anyone that would do that to another human being is "a piece of crap" but you're wrong to insinuate that "something smells funny" in regards to Mr. Benson having this much money in his home. Many of that generation never completely trusted banks and wouldn't put all their money in one. It's by no means uncommon for folks to have their money hidden elsewhere.

Smart man by leaving his money out of the banks. However, let this be a lesson to all -- don't ever, ever trust your relatives when it comes to money or other wealth.

Bet the Grandson was a Meth Head.

Oh yeah. That was very smart. Realizing a lot of elderly people do keep mattress money, I don't want to be insulting, but the result says it all. What if the house caught on fire? What if you happen to have a grandson with a machete? Why is that smart? At least keep it in a safe deposit box or fireproof safe.

Thanks Bluemoon2go, I think you summed it up pretty well, hopefully some of the people reading this can take a clue from you. My Grandaddy taught me right. May he rest in peace. LOL

He had it in a safe. The way banks are failing left and right, it seems like a safe in your house would be a pretty good place to keep your money.

Ya think? Yep, and his Grandson knew that and took full advantage,[ If that is the true story}
Come on, today with the economy in the situation it is in, who knows what lengths people will go to for money. This Piece of crap needs to be apprehended and suffer punishment for the crime he committed against his Grandfather. POS!
Come on, do you have that amount of money on hand just to put under your mattress? This punk knew about this and had a plan.I don't even have $20.00 to stuff under my mattress. Hello!

my baby brother was " strong arming " my mom ( 79 ) and dad ( 83 )... none of us other siblings knew about it...

until thursday night, sept 6, 1997 my dad called me all shaken up... told me about my brother and asked what he should do... id never seen him so upset... he died the next day of a massive heart attack...

we thought we had intervened with my brothers strong arm tactics on my mother after that... she moved away to get away from him... and passed 10 months after my dad...

i contacted the police and little brother did 5 months in the county pen... havent seen or heard from him since...
