I'm concerned about all the fights going on at the Middle school. It's every day.I know for a fact that bullying is taking place.I've seen it myself on a few occasions. Does anyone know who you can contact at state level to stop this.

If you see bullying going on, YOU should STOP it immediately and report the incident RIGHT THEN to teachers or school staff. You don't wait till you decide to report it to someone at the STATE level, Jesus! Only AFTER you're reported it (after stopping any you SEE) and nothing is done on a local level, do you go to the state. There's ALWAYS a chain of command and you should USE it.

But even that doesn't let YOU off the hook for any you've witnessed. In fact, it makes you just as guilty if you don't stop it and report it IMMEDIATELY.

GO FIGURE, GLAD U KNOW SO MUCH! YOU MUST SEE IT TO. My niece takes "taunting" daily. And for your information, They have tried to stop it. But it's not working. My friends son is called "gay" everyday because he dosen't fit it. If you haven't ever witnessed any of this and your around there then your blind.I have heard Barren Co. does not tolerate this.Maybe thats a better choice anyway.

Why should people waste there time speaking to someone at the school or the board. They will not do nothing but turn there head especially if its someone they know very well.If there was a way to contact the state I would tell ya.An if I seen a fight yeah I would step in but whose to say that it will stop. You know how many parents that would be fussing cause another parent steped to get there child in trouble alot.Especially if the child tells the parents a different story and blame the other person. So a persons best bet is yeah try to stop it bt dont touch the children knowing most children they will try to get the adult into trouble.I just hope parents will take in consideration that bullying does g o wether its there child doing it or is being pushed around do something before something bad happens.

In all honesty and reality, that's the easiest solution. You just might have to watch your back the rest of your life.

Okay. Complain at the state level & see how quickly someone from there shows up.

If your grandkid has been in middle school for 8 years then bullying should be the least of his worries.

Why not call the police especially if it is physical bullying? Even cyber-bullying and other forms of harassment can also be handled by the police.

I doubt very much anyone from the state would do anything more than forward your complaint back to the local school district.

This is the worst school i have ever seen for bullying My daughter gets bullied also but the staff there do listen and do what they can. You can press charges on the child and they and the parents have to appear before a judge. Maybe this would make the children realize how serious this is.I know this will be my next step. The staff at the middle school can only do so much but go talk with them first.

My grandson has a physical handicap and has been physically bullied, black eyed, head beat against the cement wall because he would not give them his money. We moved him to Widsom Faith School, he has excelled in grades and is doing wonderful and no bulling there. Cost $150.00 for books and $130.00 monthly a little high , but its worth it for him to have peace and not worry. Love Ya MeMa

Maybe this might be an alternative for your families.

Bullying is hard to stop because it rarely occurs in front of adults. Also, a lot of adults don't recognize certain behaviors as bullying between kids when they are.

One thing I would suggest to middle school parents is to ask your child to let an adult know if they see someone else being bullied. The victim won't tell because they are afraid it will get worse. There are so many witnesses, the bully won't be able to figure out who told. If they are afraid s/he will find out anyway, s/he can write someone they trust an anonymous note so the adults know when and where this is happening and can catch the bully in the act.

I also have to say, regretfully, due to my experience with middle schoolers, some children do seem easier to victimize than others which in no way condones the behavior. It just should alert you to ask your child what s/he was doing when the bullying started. I've seen merciless bullying start from simple things like falling asleep in class and drooling.

If the bullying gets worse, there is more to it than just things kids do to one another while growing up and the school should be looking deeper into the bully's background to see if there is some place that s/he is a victim, too.

That's an excellent suggestion. You might also consider homeschooling, that would be even better.
Until they take the bullies out the school and beat the crap out of them, nothing will stop it.
