Gang Presence in South Carolina

For many South Carolinians, hearing that gangs are operating in their community sounds odd.

One can only wonder after reading today’s Beaufort Gazette blurb about Thomas Ravenal where the story will go next. Are Tommy’s local cronies and fellow coke pushers feeling a little nervous? His friends are rather well placed in our community(Beaufort) and have much to lose if ole Tommy can’t hold his mud and decides to trade them for his own freedom.

I dont see what the government isint more harsh on gangs and crimes anyone hear about the man who rap'd a 8 year old girls last year or somthin and got 2 weeks in jail? if it was up to me I'd still be hanging people in my town publicly somebody rap'd my sister i'd kill em thats a promise

Law Enforcement on all levels, Federal, State, and Local needs to get serious about busting up these gangs and the Drug Trade, That includes The Governor, SC Attorney, SLED, FBI, DEA, US Attorney, Federal and Local Prosecutor's offices. I do believe that if the DEA contacted the Polk County NC Sheriff's Dept. all could work in conjunction...there is a very large amount of meth and cocaine traveling through spartanburg on 26 and Hwy.9 into Polk and hendersonville.

I've noticed a rather large increase in Meth addiction in both Spartanburg and polk county.

The stuff about poppin' and droppin' and flyin', etc, are descriptions of gang symbols, or tags as they are called when they are painted on something.

Gangs (including Nazi and Klan nuts) are always criminals and are a threat to the American way of life in the same way that any other terrorists are. I don't see why they should be treated any differently than al-Quaeda is treated.

God help your children if you don't educate yourself on this subject.

It started out here years ago as the unregulated flow of immigrants brought with them numerous people who were gang members in the other countries, like M-13, etc.

Now they go to smaller town as they can literally overwhelm small city police operations. In the big cities whe have dozens of men and wome in organized gang units to crack down on them.

But who is to blame? Look at much of out political structure and leaders.

The parents are just as stupid as their kids or worse. Just look at the make up of most gangs and they are mud people of some kind.
