Two Edisto women hit while walking on the side of the road

Investigators are looking for the car that hit two women while they walked home from a birthday party on Edisto Island.

I just want to say thanks for your support our family needs all the support that we can get. I live in north carolina and visited edisto a lot. it is a beautiful place and i never thought that anything like this would happen down there.

she was my mama and she meant the world to me. i miss and love her so much..... my son got his mammaw took from him when he was 1 year old. she only got to see him like 3 or 4 times. it kills me to know he will never have her growing up. he was her life. we miss and love her more than anyone will ever know. rest in peace mama and mammaw!!!!!!!we will tell him all about her!!

I was so saddened to hear of the tragic death of Evelyn and Maggie. I've never met either women but I knew of them. Do not let this case lie dormant. Keep in touch with the Police Dept. in S.C. to continue the investigation.
Years ago, this would never have happened at Edisto. I feel like I knew them both. I am hurt by their death.

rip mammaw. its been two yrs since u died and it still feels like it was just a dream but its not. i used to love vacationing to edisto but now i cant hardly go on the beautiful island bc the first thing i see is the two crosses on the side of the road and to think that someone that did this is still out there, it breaks my heart. i miss u so much. i miss sittin on the porch with you talking. i miss your delicous dinners you cooked everytime we came down. god please help them find who did this. she deserves to lay in peace. and maggie to we love her too she was a wonderful and fun person to be around and mammaw and her were always together and still are. i love you mammaw evelyn and maggie. please pray for the people that did this to be caught. stephanie

our family still has no closure on this case =( It's been almost 7 yrs. You would think a isolated island would come up with something. I guess the DETECTIVES have givin up. If it were their Mom AND FRIEND WHO PERISHED they would still be searching for answers............ I would think an island as small as Edisto would hold a few clues if the Law would be persistant in their investagation and just give up after a certain amount of time passed. I MISS MY MAMA
