I was at Edisto with my family last week and we watched a rather large shark off the beach Thursday. We had been swimming there since Saturday. Didn't swim much on Thursday! Husband and brother also took kayaks to Jeremy Inlet from around Cupid St. and the Coast Guard circled them upon their return to the beach. I'm wondering if anyone else saw the shark (I heard at Edisto Watersports that other people did see it) and if anyone knew what kind it was.

The sharks are ok...the developers are what we have to watch out for. They will kill Edisto Beach for all of us. The golf course which looks good now will soon become a subject for more development. Not enough income from golf and more from developing new home lots. Help us control these goons.

It is the ocean and the ocean has sharks. I have caught numerous 4 footers in less than 5 feet of water off the beach over many many years. They belong there, you do not.
