Honor Basilone by renaming Raritan

There are 1 comment on the Courier News story from Apr 1, 2011, titled Honor Basilone by renaming Raritan. In it, Courier News reports that:

As there are many cities and towns in New Jersey that are named after prominent people of the state - such as Clark, Carteret, Edison, Harrison, Monroe, Woodbridge, and others - I think it is only fitting that we should have the name of Raritan changed to Basilone.

In reference to the idea to change the name of the town of Raritan to Basilone, which would be a great honor for those who live there and for the people of New Jersey.

Also needed are signs big enough to be seen by the millions of people who drive along the New Jersey Turnpike (I 95) and cross the Raritan River every day. The bridge that they cross on is named after Gunnery Sgt John Basilone, but there are no signs on the bridge to tell you that.

Lets get it done.

Thank you,

Richard Burke
