Over 1,200 janitors fired in immigration audit

An immigration attorney says roughly 1,250 undocumented janitors in the Twin Cities were fired from their jobs in October as their company checked immigration papers.

Now that this story has been updated some of you can now understand that there is more to a story. This company has been hiring these employees for years They knew the status at the time of hiring and because of some loophole or over site they were allowed to continue hiring.

It was NOT the company who decided to all of a sudden "do the right thing" and let these employees go! It was an ICE audit that forced the company to do the right thing.

Yes, even the Union knew the status of these employees which they fought for their rights knowing that they shouldn't even be in the country let alone be working. Makes you think that ICE should pay a visit to the Union as well huh.

One thing that needs to be made very clear here is that these people are working as illegal immigrants. They are not just undocumented workers. They entered this country illegally and proceeded to work illegally. The government and this company knew this and allowed it to continue.

So feel sorry all you want for these poor criminals because that is exactly what they are. Watch this video and see who is to blame! If this bill actually gets passed we as a country are...well you decide...

I have to say I benefited from this. I was hired on spot yesterday for a position with ABM..which in this economy with the few jobs that are out there, people like me are thankful to FINALLY have a job that pays more then 9.00...

This is a stupid approach. As anne coulter pointed out, all the politicians have to do is pass a law allowing illegals to sue for overtime and minimum wage, and companies will stop hiring them.

Agreed, these illegals come here because they know another illegal who is working for 4-5 bucks an hr cash. They flock here in numbers because companies like these are hiring them. 4 dollars an hr is better than 40 pesos a day. On the flipside, the company saves on wages, benefits and the main one, employee rights. They can treat them anyway they want and they can't say anything.
