What a wonderful way to spend Veterans Day. Sen Franken again shows what a class act he is with his devotion to the service men and women of our country.

Thank you Sen. Franken.

Everyone knows the democrats despise and resent the military. If they had their way they'd board-up the Pentagon and use the money to create make-work jobs in the civilian bureaucracy.

So when one of these despicable democrat politicians, who would laugh at the notion that they or one of their family members would actually wear the uniform of the U.S. armed forces, pretends to care about our military, we all know it's only an attempt to try to mask the truth for political purposes.

It is better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are an idiot then to open it and remove all doubt. Abe Lincoln, a Republican.

You sir, are a troll and a tool.

Personally, I would support this bill no matter who authored it. Knowing that Franken is pushing for it does however give me pause, in that Franken is a very unlikely supporter of the military so I would like to know what is in it for him. Perhaps other than the realization by dems that Americans love and respect our military, and by standing in favor of this bill, he, and other democrats only want to curry favor in an area they are not known for.

Franken could have championed this cause as a civilian with his quasi celebrity status but he didn’t. Why? Because he didn’t even know about this cause six months ago. The DNC handlers gave this to him so he could start building his ‘I love the military’ resume.

Perhaps you should take a closer look at Abe's advice for yourself.

Funny...Franken has been to the Middle East to visit the troops and give them support. Too bad the majority of congressmen/women could give two shits.

While I'm not a Franken fan in the least, THIS is something I can agree with Franken. Dogs will bring much joy and help to these veterans.

What a dumb statement. So Palenty's observance of veterans is also political? I'm a Liberal, but I commend Palenty for honoring Vets today and for his service, though I don't agree with him on many issues. It's veterans day, let's put politics aside.

Franken visited the troops several times before he was a Senator. Weather he was supporting service dogs or the troops, he was there.

We all support the young men in uniform. These are our sons. Some of us just don't support the military philosphy of solving all issues with a war.

Al Franken also supports the military: Bob Meaders is a Republican. Back in 2004, Meaders was concerned that his grandson fighting in Iraq didn't have a good enough helmet and so he started up a collection to retrofit military helmets. Franken helped with that effort by featuring Meaders on his Air America radio show and in other ways. I believe the helmets were to help prevent concussion shock wave injuries.

"Everyone knows the democrats despise and resent the military"...REALLY?
I am a liberal Democrat. My son is a liberal Democrat. He is also a Captain in the Army JAG corps and the head of legal services at Fort Hood. If you think about that too long, maybe your head will implode.

I am not surprised that a liberal would go into the service to do in servicemen. Shocking, but exactly what a liberal would do. Ninny.

Rather misleading, Al is spending the day with a disabled vet and the service dog that the vet now uses. He's there for the dog or the vet? At first I thought he was supporting the military dogs that give their lives to protect and assist our military personnel. No, he's taking Veteran's Day to honor a dog that is assisting a wounded vet, so if the dog was with a person who was not a vet would he still be there? He is not honoring any military person or dog, he's supporting the service animals (those that service the blind, disabled....). Makes you think doesn't it when you look at it that way. So does he support the military or is this just convenience.
