The next election. We have been trained to be partisans and never compromise, never relent. Instead of blending the ideas of Americans and finding the best course of action we do everything to hinder progress on either side. That is why we are standing still and the politicians are running wild with the power.
We have been duped. While we fight over who is right, they are playing tag team taking our money and freedoms away at an incredible rate. But you will very seldom hear a partisan admit that his party is at fault in any way, and they are full time blaming the opposite side for EVERYTHING.
A perfect self fulfilling prophesy that is destrying our nation a whole lot faster than the terror threat, the economy, illegal immigration or any other issue that you can come up with!
Yes, ditto, all of the above. I have been saying for years that all China or another prosperous country has to do is sit back and watch us implode, then they can come in and cherry pick whatever is left, if there IS anything left. And I think Americans are finally waking up and realizing that while we were buying our big screens and ATVs and sunless tans and getting deeper into dept, our leaders were laughing all the way to the bank. So great, while some realize we have dug ourselves in halfway to hell, the rest are still throwing sticks and stones, and what do we do about it? We're yelling. We will send a message in a couple of weeks, whether or not we're voting correctly, but is it going to make any difference? Are we falling into a worse trap like the voters in Delaware did, so the message is not only lost, its laughed at?

Most Americans did not want the stimulus farce, but it was passed anyway. Most Americans do not want universal health care, but it was passed anyway. We hate what the banks are doing to us, our taxes, whether anyone wants to admit it or not, are on the rise. Mortgage rates are at an all time low, but the banks are too afraid of the risks now so don't want to lend. S.S.- joke! Do you ever notice that the things we middle classers want to do to ensure our financial freedoms tend to be whittled away by our government? Can you do what you want with your savings and retirement accounts? I sure can't! I can do everything in my power to plan for my future so that I'm not a burden on my children or society, but failed policies and crappy choices are making it look like I will never be able to do that.

Whew! Shouldn't have got me started. I need to spend at least half the weekend hiking.

And about partisan politics? We are their pawns and are doing exactly what they want us to do. Fight amongst ourselves so we're not focused on their slights of hand.

I agree. But we are not seeing any "new ones" on the ballots. The priveledged class and the partisan camps have eliminated any chance of us voting for someone who may upset the apple cart. And then we have people promising to "upset the apple cart" who are actually being paid by the driver of the apple cart to keep things the same.

In the race for NM gov, the villain has the smiling face and the advantage of being a hick town politician, and the angel is stained from having been elected to office under a real bagwad. So the crooks have positioned themselves once again so they can not be defeated.

It will be up to the American voter to awake from their deep slumber and get INFORMED about what is going on. Otherwise they will dupe us every time.

Very well stated. I cannot remember the last time that an "average Joe or Jane ever made it through an election. We keep getting the S O S because that is what our system mandates. That's why Mary Jane (no pun intended) is running unchallanged.

Well, she was a liberal Democrat just a few years ago so my guess she is whatever you want her to be.
