I have a very close friend who lives there, she pays less than $500 for a two bedroom townhome. I don't know exactly, but you can call them.

My husband and I along with our 3 month old child moved into a windsor valley town home in 2000.(it used to be called meadowood when we moved there) rent was free they based it on how much your pay checks were per week (section 8) the whole area is going down hill really fast we lived there for two years and we had to get out of there quick. we lived in between two drug dealers cops were always running in and out (and busting down there front door doing drug stings or raids) of there houses. people running in and out of there homes all hours of the day and night i can't tell you how many weirdos mistaken my house for there dealers house. banging on the doors partyin all the time weekdays week nights weekends day and nite we had to go to work the next day and they kept us up most nights and we we're to scared to call the cops or the leasing office cause we had a small baby.windsor valley is no place to raise a family the kids are mean and act just like the parents bring them up in this world it is a getto and the only people that live in a getto are people that can't aford living some where nice. and lets face it, it has been my experence that people living in section 8 are people on wellfair trying to get any kind of free hand out so they don't have to work and earn there known living they want the government to take care of them and there 10 kids, drug dealers, people that drink and do drugs all day all night, it has been 10 years since i moved out of there and i'll never step a foot back on meadowood dr. you could'nt pay me to go back there thats how bad it is so think twice before moving into windsor valley townhomes!!!

Me and my wife are seriously thinking about moving to windsor valley. if any one has any current veiws on the type of neighbor hood or the people that live there. In other words is it a place you would want to raise a family.

Unless you are looking for a drug haven, and place for your kids to learn how to fight, and to make roaches your pets, don't do it. Windsor Valley was originally Meadowood, they changed the name, but NOTHING else. This place has been a suburban ghetto since the late 1970's/early 1980's.

Windsor Valley is a joke, I don't understand why they just tear it down and make that trash that lives there go find another area to mess up. They do act like it's a ghetto and it's not, before those section 8 losers moved in edgewood was a nice are with working families and friendly people. Slowly all the families that wanted to build their lives there left because of the scum that remains there today, and I'm not saying they are all scum. I get that people fall on hard times and need help but seriously I can't stand the uneducated garbage that wants to fight and steal. No wonder they have nothing, they are nothing.

I have friends there.
And then I have situations where I've had little kids come up to me and say their gonna get their uncles to stab me because I'm white.

okay i live here with my two month old daughter and i am a white female and it is not as bad as everyone is saying when the new management moved in a year or so ago they have cleaned up the neighborhood. i admit its not the best neighborhood but its certainly not all this. of course there are going to be drug dealers its LOW INCOME BASED HOUSING but there is not a million of them running around stabbing people and stuff. the only reason a drug dealer would be knocking on your door was if theyve gotten the drugs there before so dont sell drugs and mind your buisness and you wont have a problem!! now if you can afford something nicer than of course this wouldnt be your first pick of places to live but if your like myself, a single mother with no choice but to live in a place with subsidized housing and a lot of others out there than this is not a terrible neighborhood just dont sell drugs and keep to yourself and you will be fine.

Are you still living there? I'm a single parent also and need affordable housing. I've lived in subsidized housing before and know not to get involved with certain people. Do you feel comfortable in the neighborhood or taking your daughter to the park when she is old enough? Also I know your daughter is not old enough but do you know about Magnolia Elementary? The statistics online don't look that great. Or if anyone else knows please comment. Thanks!

I'm thinking about moving there myself because I don't have a lot of money but I have to go somewhere. I'm sure there are dealers and things of that nature, but the way I see it, if you keep to yourself and do your own thing, you shouldn't be bothered. I'm nervous about moving but I have to do something. Are there any other suggestions for a single white female with low income?

Would any of you Windsor Valley residents like to see those Navy jets stationed at Fentress Field in Chesapeake, VA and Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA land in your backyard!? How many of you people support the idea of Fort Pickett near Blackstone, VA being transformed into an outlying landing field?

im moving out there soon when i did get to see the property it looked clean but about the third or fourth time going out there i did see a couple of cops n your so called (drug dealers) i see it like this as long as you make a plan and stick to it and of course dont get involved wit the negative going on around u then u should be outta there but if u see this as a last stop of course u will adapt and become one wit ur surroundings

Its like this no matter where u live theres gonna be good and bad even if u dont see it. But from my experience I did not like the thin walls you can hear the neighbors micowave go off even if u r upstairs.

I grew up there as a child.back in 1994 my mom and I moved in with my Grandma, and as at first it was great!!plenty of kids to play with (which is something when your an only child),but after a while,it started to get dangerous.I got beat up the first time by 4 boys who's ages ranged from 8-14,when i was only 7,our dumpster got lit on fire, and someone tried to break in my Grandma's house, and would probably have succeeded,if she didn't have a huge bookshelf covering the front window.my Grandma lived in Meadow wood ct. for years,I think she moved there in the 70's,she loved it,she knew everyone in her neighborhood, and she had lots of friends(which is something an elderly person needs),we had to move her out when her house almost got broken into, and we high-tailed it outta there, and moved to Abingdon.needless to say, there are bad people that live there, but there's also good people as well. just like everywhere you go.my Grandma loved it,my Mom,not as much, much better area than behind the old Giant, that's for sure!!
