Long before Overpeck Park, long before the modern Fort Lee Road across Overpeck Creek there was an abandoned boat on the east side pilings of the old bridge. Someone had painted the words SNAFU on it. Aptly describing the apparent demise of the boat. This around 1950 and it might be reasonable to assume that the owner was a vet from WW2. Time moves on but memories remain.
