Wow.A lot of distortion here. The police report accurately entailed the statements of all the people involved and the conclusion of a thorough investigation. The incident DID actually occur. The State Attorneys Office did not conduct "their own" investigation...they simply gathered all of the info. from the police dept. The reason it took TWO months for the State Attorneys Office to "review" the case is simply because the charge of Battery/Domestic Violence is a misdemeanor and they did not want to pursue it and spend so much effort on a misdemeanor case and certainly not want to take a MISDEMEANOR to jury trial. The Rogers' should have been arrested that night, but I think the officers did what they thought was right by doing whatever they could to get Danielle out of the house and out of danger that night and delicately step around the fact that Debra Rogers continuously reminded them she was a City Councilwoman. Because they weren't arrested that night, the police department had to follow up on Danielle coming in on her own two days later to make the battery complaint. The Rogers family KNOWS what occurred that night and also many other incidents that have occurred in that household behind closed doors. The idea that the case was pursued by the police because of Debra Rogers' position on the city council is absurd.I applaud the police for doing their job and not letting politics get in the way when push came to shove. Unfortunately, the State Attorneys Office decided not to prosecute for the reasons I listed above. The Rogers' family says they are innocent, the incident(s) never occurred and poor them, it is all lies. HOW ABSURD. Criminals are arrested CONSTANTLY for committing crimes and then the charges are withheld or actually "no filed" by the State Attorneys Office. This is a common occurrence. That does not mean they did not commit the crimes. The Rogers family is not "innocent" of the charges filed. And thank goodness for the Victim Advocate that cared enough about the victims she dedicates her life work to for following up with scholarships and financial aid assistance to get the daughter Danielle into college and continuing with her dreams amidst all of this silliness. If not for her, Danielle would not have ever gotten the funds to attend nor all of the things she needed to begin college.Bottom line is the Rogers family should be thankful they are not in jail and should pray together about that and stop trying to blame everyone else for their distorted perceptions of life.

Finally! Someone realized that just because the State Attorney drops a case, it doesn't mean they're not GUILTY!
Who are these nut jobs that are saying all of this stuff was brought to light because of scandalous politics on the city council?!!?? I'll bet you are the same people that believe there is no crime or drug activity in the city of Edgewater too, so why do we even NEED the police? You people need to move to Oak Hill.

it is a darn shame that this corrupt town of edgewater chooses to malign who speaks up and or go's against the good old boys, whether it is the city manager, mayor, or police department, Debra Rogers uncovered debts, unanswered disposition of fill/sand, worth $$$, monies put here and there, town in debt over 50 million, and then they choose to slander her and her family, and then have the nerve to do their type of investigation, and I wonder what is with this victim's advocate doing her own thing, does she have many bones and clues in her closet???? was she a problem in her past childhood,,,,, what are her qualifications???? how much money does she make taking in children, what is her psych education background, well guys, you never let the public hear the 911 tape, and do think it over when you decide to slander another family or person in this town, this is not a hitler town, and the truth will always prevail, especially when your motives are satanistic.......and part of the good old boys of deception and pocketing our hard earned taxes for self gain, this will only lead to your destruction.
YES, YOU FIGURED IT OUT. I'M SURE THAT BECAUSE OF DEBRA ROGERS UNCOVERING THE "UNANSWERED DISPOSITION OF FILL/SAND" IN THE CITY, THE POLICE DECIDED TO CONDUCT A CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION INTO SOMETHING REPORTED TO THEM. AND AS FOR THE REFERENCES TO HITLER AND SATANISTIC MOTIVES....WELL, WE'LL JUST LET THAT SPEAK FOR ITSELF. WAY TO TRY AND FOCUS THE ATTENTION AWAY FROM THE ACTUAL FACTS.

Hi,
For all you bloggers information; I'm having a hard time because of allowing Dina Wentworth to lead me; I've made more mistakes then I care to talk about. My parents are still trying to help me. Yes, I was baker acted. Did anyone realize that Dina Wentworth, Chief of Police, Detective Heather Brady, Jon Williams City Manager were all let go, allowed to retire early... This doesn't get printed to clear my parents name and reputation. Now I have to live with the guilt of allowing these people to control me. I was with Dina Wentworth two full days and up to the time when the police were called by my sister. I regret letting Dina and her friends in Edgewater tell me that I was right and my parents were wrong. The biggest mistake of my life. I'm now 23 and have not finished school and live with the guilt every day and yes I'm mixed up. Thank You mom and dad for still loving me. Dina and others thanks for leading me astray, I'm working to getting back on track.

My parents went to State Attorney's office. The people in Edgewater were being investigated. Changing police reports...the two officers visited my parents and told them what happened and also went to FDLE. Guess what, John Tanner did not get reelected and the case at the state was dropped. They told my parents that they were not going to file any charges so my parents could win a civil lawsuit. This was told to them by Debbie Reith or someone that took over the investigator's job after the new State Attorney Larizza got in. Tanner was working on it and then he lost his election. My mother completed her term and decided to not run again due to the corruption in Edgewater. I will write a book about this experience, for now I'm just trying to get my life straight. Edgewater hurt my family badly.
