Thank you Senators Rest & Marty for these latest bills. Reducing a Governors authority is always a good idea but what are you doing to get this states finances out of the toilet? Those ideas are what a lot of us want to hear.

We must make an assumption when passing this kind of bill, that the sitting governor at the time of a potential appointment is corrupt, therefore we we should enact a law to circumvent established authority.

Given this case, could I not make the same case that the chair of a political party is as corrupt and would "sell" the party endorsement?

Ann Rest is attempting to solve a problem that does not exist. Certainly should would seek to rescind the law during periods of control of a DFL governor.

If she wanted to stop the purchase of elections, why do politicians go out and raise money for the parties to which they align themselves?

Political Action Committee Contributions of any amount makes it to the party. Ann Rest, give it a rest and make a felony for campaign volunteers to steal opponent's literature.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Scorpio

If something is bothering you, it's important that you say so now, loudly and clearly. It's no good bottling things up any longer because that will only lead to resentment and a slow-burning anger. However, it's important that you know when to shut up too, otherwise you might overstate your case or sound so demanding that you turn others against you.
