Why do we need another tax for the environment. I thought part of the Lottery went for our environment.

I believe the legistature works on this type of legislation because it is easier to get agreement then fight the real battles, like fixing the roads and bridges, or reducing taxes, or dealing with the people moving into this state for the welfare.

As a retired person I am tired of my taxes going up and my income does not.

I will not vote for another tax increase until the state legislators, employees and educators get on the same pension page that almost everyone else is on - page zero!

Almost every private business has had its employees switch to defined contribution from defined benefit plans. A few are fortunate to have a decent corporate match up to a few percent. Most must put aside from earnings alone, if anything.

Until every city, county, state and federal employee under 50 years of age receives health and pension benefits that track the mean available to the working public, NO NEW TAXES!!!

I think it unconscionable that elected officials would ask more of the working man until even as they pay themselves first long into the future at a level 9or more)that what I can earn today putting in my hours. Cut the public pensions! Flatten the administration! Pay the workers well - fairly, and put everyone on the same pensionless financial footing.

Anyone want to save Social Security? Pay Congressional pensions out of Social Security trust funds. Fine, give them a multiple over what the average citizen gets, but reduce to reality and link their payout to ours! Are you listening AARP?

Daily Horoscope for December 17

Aries

Life has a lot to offer today, especially if you're mixing with people on the same wavelength as you. With sensual Venus dancing with passionate Mars, a party or festive gathering is just the thing for the Ram. You might even go home with a certain phone number tucked safely in your pocket.
