That councilman who provoked this in this first place is just like the others, not looking at the true issue. Thank you to New Castle County for voting this down. Hopefully Delaware will not follow the other states with the misconception on pitbulls.
Pitbulls are not the issue, as with other breeds, it's the Tough, acting DOG OWNERS who rough up these breeds, and make them the way they are. People who are fighting these breeds should be automatically charged with a felony, and spend time in prison and realize that they cannot do that to any animal, and they should see how it is to be rough housed abit as they did to these breeds. I am frustrated with the misconception of this breed, when it all started from people fighting these breeds in pits from the 1800's in England, which is how the breed got it's name,"Pitbull" Then down the road people continue to realize the power and strengh of these breeds and teach them to be too over protective, vicious, and to obey no matter what. It's beyond fighting them, I've personally seen people, neighbors on base beat their pitbulls, tie them up to a post, give them names like Cujo, and we wonder why these breeds lash out. I myself own a pitbull, and he has a good life, he sleeps with me,he never sits outside on a leash. He's very submissive, actually he's like a big baby. Because I trained him not to be protective, I can take care of myself. Dogs are used too much for security and protection, they should be treated as companion, or a part of the family. These bannings on pitbulls throughout the country can keep a person up at night, thinking about their own dog, trying to keep it safe, knowing that any day my county, or surrounding area could ban my dog because he is a staffashire bull terrior which falls under a pitbull. Again Thank You New Castle County and thanks to anyone in particular who had voted that down. Thank You so much! |

pit bulls are good dogs. it is the owner that thinks it is cool or ok to make the dogs the way they are. the breed should not be penalized it should be the owners/ fighters. pit bulls arent the only dogs tha have been known to attack but as you can see they are the only ones that are being banned and recognized and getting the name for mean vicious dogs. pit bulls dont attack more than any other dog. banning one breed is not going to do anything ... any type of dog can be trained to attack.
