Does anyone have any ideas where I can take my teenage daughter and her best friend on a mini vacation? I don't want to go any farther than about a 3 hour drive. I realize we are going to have to stay in a motel and that is costly. She would enjoy a waterpark, or something of that nature. Of course, the less money we have to spend the better off we will be. But, I want them to have a good time. Can anyone help me out with suggestions?

Just like the song says! I'm Walking to New Orleans, Well Not really walking! I am driving! Bad thing it is for work! Good thing Wifey and kids go too! No work for them. Other good thing the company pays for the trip. I hope I can keep My 9 yr old son off of Burbon street this time. HE LOVES THAT CITY!

Thank you all a bunch for your suggestions. I have been curious about the waterpark near Grapevine, TX. It just seems like it defeats its' purpose. I mean a waterpark inside? But, I'm sure it's a lot of fun. Actually, Blue Byaou in B.R. was on the top of my list before this post & it may still be there. I just wish motel rooms weren't so dang high! Would you (anyone) make a day or a weekend out of that trip? I guess that would depend on the money situation, which in our case we don't have a lot to be spending on a vacation. It's sad when you work JUST to pay bills and don't get to ever have any fun... I checked into the price of tickets & that's not too bad ($35) but when you plan on staying 2 nights in a motel it runs about $300 for 4 people, 2 rooms. I thought about just going down there early, be at the park at 10 a.m. & stay til 10 p.m., then stay the night in a motel & go home the next day after checkout time. I am an individual who doesn't mind searching for bargains...LOL

ha.. and u imply it hurt my brain? not a chance on that. my mind works when other's brain's are napping.i know of many more hotspots that r close and not that expensive...now on serious side..i got a friend that is in hotsprings ark. as we speak. her 12 yr old son n her went to the big water park and they have 9 water rides shut down for some reason . it seems six flags has bought the place and doing something to them. so make make sure u look into this b4 u go there looking for the water, magic springs i think it is,and some of the locals there are even complaining to tourists about it cos it is hurting there business as well.... yw and u dont owe me a thing for this wise advice from the gump. and enjoy this moment of seriousness....gump
