Chowana s jobless rate rises, others see slip

While other Albemarle counties reported slight decreases in unemployment in July, Chowan County's jobless rate continued to rise.

i heard the county manager received a $17,000 raise recently...the commissioners and managers are greedy individuals ones that do not know what they are doing and need to get out of office...that includes ms. lisa jones period

I agree with you. Our county mgmt is wayyyy over paid. the good ol boys (and girls)have had their hands in the till too long. If all these tax increases continue..i will be forced to move. I cannot afford to live in Edenton much longer.I may be forced to move to Nags Head..maybe Cliff Copeland will let me rent a room in that million dollar cottage he owns there?...as for chowan co..if they want to cater to retired folks..well..lets see how long they will support our town and county.we sure need jobs..not more taxes!
think they should be selling or renting out ALL these useless buildings that money has been squandered on.

again.. its that good ol boy thing . chowan is so corrupt. they need to make a sweep- get rid of them all. elect ALL new ppl for ALL positions.
