I always wondered about Petters when I noticed that the stock in their stores never turned over. They had the same shop worn junk in Har Mar for years.

Who really knows who was the brains behind this operation. Every one is on the bandwagon blaming Petters for all of this. While he was no angel, the rest of his associates including Ms. Coleman seemed to be living pretty good off the stream of money coming in. I do not believe for one minute that any of them did not know any/all of this business was not on the up and up. Who gets paid $80-90,000 a year plus perks to be an office manager? Someone who is trusted to shut up and look the other way. Coleman did a good job for quite a few years. She just turned on him when he wanted to try to straighten things out. Her job would not have lasted long if he had figured out how. She only thought about saving her own skin as are the rest of them.

At the end of the day, my money is gone and the lawyers are flush. Why is Petters able to spend all the investor money on a sham defense that has no hope of winning... because he has nothing to lose. No justice here. He paid 500 million for Polaroid which was worthless and then the receiver sells it for 75 million. Lots of people profited off of this scam.

Government should offer Petters a reasonable deal - 20 years - so the can find out what really went on and who was involved outside of Petters. If they don't it means that the government has something to hide. Murdered son in Italy and cohort in witness protection with ties to Mafia is very suspicious. Otherwise Petters has nothing to lose and will keep quiet.

TYPO 2: "Apologies" Hey PiPress, any way you can offer a spell checker on here. Either that, or I am going to have to proof read my stuff before submitting. And yeah, I left the door wide open for any critic of my posts on that one. Have a good day folks.

Mic, spellcheck is the least of your concern. Tom gave plenty of political donations to democrats, probably more than republicans. Go eat some potatos and keep your opinions to yourself. You're dumb. Mr. Petters' political donations all went to the Republi-thug Party. Thus, another of the Cristial Right is going exactly where they belong, to prison for the rest of their lives. Good riddance to bad garbage. Congratulations! You have now said the dumbest thing I have heard all day. Tom Petters is of the Christian Right? Cmon kid. I see you have made 400 and some comments on Topix- congratulations. I can only imagine how stupid all of them are.

I bought some stuff from Mr. Petters once, and went out to his warehouse to pick it up myself, after hours, with a crowbar. Imagine my surprise to find the warehouse empty! But nobody would believe me, because...they all think I'm nuts. When in fact I'm just a misunderstood genius. When will they ever learn.

The only reason Petters is being prosecuted is that he didn't make large enough donations to the Republican and Democratic national committees. Petters is only the tip of a much, much larger iceberg. A few are being chosen as scapegoats to make it look like the government cares about this crap, while others continue to rip off the public.
