Has anyone on this list visited or worked at the prison? I hear that the inmates there receive a lot of mail and was wondering if anyone knows any of them.

I used to work there. It's not exactly the kind of place you would want to go husband or boyfriend shopping. Whether you were interrested in staff or inmates, doesn't matter, they are men, they are dogs.(I was married to an officer). The only difference between those in the system and those in the normal world is that the inmates and officers have had years of practice with manipulation especially where women are concerned. If you are interrested in the "bad boy" type, wait until they get out and adjust to real life for a while if that is your intention. You can take it or leave it, but my advice is to stay away from anyone currently associated with that hell hole.

I'm not saying that people cannot change. And most of the guys do really good when they get out. I was just saying that maybe meeting a guy through prison correspondence would not be the ideal thing. Once they get out, go for it. I have seen inmate after inmate write and call a hanfull of females and/or males to get money. Granted some of the guys just want letters and friendship, but a majority of them want money and will do anything to get it, include promise the world which they have no intention of delivering. I've worked the mail room and seen some of the incoming letters and cards and money orders. You are one of the few "good guys" if you never played the "game" and I applaud you for doing good and staying out of the system. I never said you are all the same, there's just a large majority that do what they feel they need to do to survive financially in prison.
I was just trying to warn her to be careful if she is going to write someone. Not everyone is what they seem. |

I believe that once you are out, you are no longer an inmate. You are a free man who has paid your debt for whatever it is that you did to get there. But you've been there and I know you've seen the lengths that some will go to in order to get what they want.
Working 3 c/h, I heard plenty. And seen more than I care to. I wish you luck in your life and I hope and pray that you never again have to endure that hell. |

Good for you, greenwell. I wish you and your lady all of the luck in the world.
The way I see it everyone makes mistakes, it's just that some people get caught and some don't and that is all that sepatares the officers from the inmates in that place. You are out and free now, you deserve the chance that everyone else does; a chance at a good life. Again, good luck to you and your lady. May you find all that you are looking for in life. |
