Updated often with Haigler blog entries by people who live in or have ever lived in or around this little town that calls itself "The Cornerstone of Nebraska."

Haigler seems like a nice quiet little town. Much like the one that our family lives in here in Indiana. My great grandmother Anna Maurer lived in Haigler and I think is buried in one of the cemetaries. Her son, John, I believe built the house that they lived in in Haigler and I understand that it is still standing. I believe he is buried in Haigler as well. Would anyone in Haigler be kind enough to find the house and take a picture of it and E-mail it to me? And if there would be a tombstone on either grave would it be possible to get a picture or pictures of them as well. If it is possible, my E-mail address is ggmaurer@aol.com. I would appreciate it very much and would be willing to compensate whomever takes provides the information for me if a name and address is sent along with the pictures or information in the E-mail. Thanks so much in advance....it would save me miles of driving to visit Haigler, although I would like to do that sometime. I have a picture of my great grandmother Anna Maurer standing on the backporch of the home that I believe she lived in in Haigler. It was a white frame home then. Would appreciate any correspondence with anyone available to help.
Sincerely, Greg Maurer

I'm thrilled to see the Haigler Blog! I attended school there from Kindergarten until the 8th grade. I visited summer before last and saw my two best friends, Kathy Erdman and Galena Collicott! Will forward the web sight to my former favorite teacher, Miss Ketler from 6th grade who I am in current contact with and plan to visit again this June in Red Cloud! I am a first grade teacher in Okla., married 33 yrs, we have two daughters in their 20's! Go Cornhuskers!

The Haigler Blog is more than two years old, with almost 1200 posts that include pictures and stories about the town and many of its people. More and more people are finding it and contributing to its success.
If you grew up near or visited the Haigler area, you would enjoy browsing through the many links and stories.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Gemini

It's easy to become distracted and confused because your mind is wandering about in all sorts of different directions. You're also in a highly impressionable state so will believe almost anything you're told now, whether it's true or a total flight of fancy. Be wary of muddling others by only telling them half the story or letting your imagination fill in any gaps.
