They could have as easily have built a composting toilet arrangement. The stuff needs at least three to six months to decompose plus an option of putting it through a worm bin. There is nothing wrong with using it then. Better yet a methane digester.

Tiny Cabin

A visiting politician from Chicago was hiking through the mountains of Pennsylvania looking for votes when he came upon the tiniest cabin he had ever seen in his life.

Intrigued, he went up and knocked on the door.
'Anybody home?' he asked.

'Yep,' came a kid's voice through the door.

'Is your father there?' asked the politician.'

'Pa? Nope, he left afore Ma came in,' said the kid.

'Well, is your mother here?'

'No, she left before I got here,' said the kid.

'But,' protested the Chicago politician,'are you never together as a family?'

'Sure, but not here,' said the kid through the

'This is the outhouse!'

What a waste of taxpayers dollars, Amish know how to farm, our early settlers also. Where do you think they went - ol' moon door and SEARS was the saving grace of many a person!
Got more work out of folks to, dimly lit, and darn cold. did not stay to long. Remember when the kids said they saw a snake in the hole:>))
Hit it with some lime, it helped!!
