Moving the manufacturing to Wisconsin, makes absolute financial sense, in as much as, the workmans compensation rate is much higher in Mn. than it is in Wis. A few years ago I was building a commercial building in the state of Virginia and was going to use my Minnesota framing crews, until I found out the Minn. workmens comp rate was triple that of Virginia. I hired a Virginia framing crew, based solely on that fact. Minnesota needs to get competitive, or it will keep loosing businesses to SothDakota and Wisconsin!

Hutchinson can thank Mark Dayton for this. Business taxes are on the rise here and businesses are fleeing.

So Polaris moves jobs from Wisconsin to Minnesota because of the job climate being poor, and Hutchinson moves jobs from Minnesota to Wisconsin because the job climate is bad.

Seems like just a lot of job shifting.

I'm sure the CEO's aren't losing sleep over this.

This is a common theme for Hutch Tech. They lay off and hire back as they get new jobs to finish.
then they push their people to do it as fast as possible, then lay them off again. they have been doing it for years. Old news.

Other 60-70% will be relocated to Wisconsin.

Policies have consequences. Who you vote for matters.

No matter the democrat, the consequences will be to kill the economy, the private sector, and all things oil and gas.

That is their perfect tri-fecta. Care to take your vote back yet?

Really Cory? Let's see Pawlenty was in office for the past few years. Do you think a company this size made a decision like this based on Dayton being in office for 2 months.

Always remember, our President is "focused like a laser" on job creation in this country.

Thank you so much, Mr. President.

Offshoring to a next door state. That ought to piss the Minny progressive liberals off. Why Wisc. is not mush better than Mississippi. We don't want Minny to become like Mississippi.

Sounds like a death spiral........

Manufacturing costs in Hutchinson and Eau Claire can't compete with Malaysia, China, India, Indonesia, and Thailand.

Hopefully employees don't have their 401(k)s invested in the same company as their jobs.

I love how some of you try to blame this on Obama. Here's a hint: the jobs are moving from one American state to another. There is no net loss to the nation.

These anti-Obama posts are ridiculous. Grow up and stop embarrassing yourselves.

Nice try, Butch.

Do you remember in the last decade where we had 8 years of a Republican president (several of those years he had Republicans in control of the House and Senate = NO OTHER PARTY TO BLAME) whose spending put Democrats to shame?$775 BILLION to date poured down a rat's hole in Iraq (no weapons of mass destruction found - only weapons of mass deception); 10 years and $$$$ BILLIONS (Trillion+?) wasted in Afghanistan and still no Bin Laden, Mullah Omar, or al Zawahiri caught; gave $15 BILLION to Africa for AIDS in an unsuccessful attempt to bribe the African members of the UN Security Council to vote for the invasion of Iraq (Google it); etc.

Speaking of oil and gas, were you complaining as much about $4.25 per gallon when it was driven up by Bush and Cheney's oil and gas friends as you are about $3.25 per gallon when it's caused by Middle East chaos and civil war - not Obama?

I voted Republican when they really did try to cut government spending and waste. Now tools and pawns like you spout out the Republican agenda from 30 years ago, and they are just as bad as the Democrats. The media, pollsters, and crusty party backroom cigars need chumps like you to make it sound like we actually have a choice !!

And you think you're not wasting YOUR vote.........

Did you see the title of the article where it says, "cuts workforce 30 to 40 percent"?

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Cancer

Take care because it's a rather downbeat day. You feel as though you have the cares of the world on your shoulders, and maybe you have. You've certainly got to cope with a lot of responsibility and duty, and there could also be delays and disappointments that need to be negotiated. Yes, it's a fairly miserable day but try to rise above it, otherwise you'll soon start to feel really wretched and sorry for yourself.
