Where do I start?
Not with a perfect smile. I've never had any interaction with dr. Maron himself but with his Office and other dentist there, which i am writing about here. If there was ever a rating system that starts with minus "0", that would be the rating I'd give this group of "charlatans". I am 69 years old, never in my whole life did I ever come across a group of incompetent, money grabbing, professionally inefficient so call "licensed" people. Started with a visit when I needed to correct a couple of fillings which needed repaired, two months later I found myself back at the office fixing that previous repair which still wasn't done correctly since the dentist that corrected it did a rush job and failed to buff up the teeth in question and both teeth were left with edges which were extremely uncomfortable to live with.
When I returned for the third timeI was assigned Dr Taylor who, by the way, was not very friendly, didn't even introduce himself to me, a basic protocol when a professional Dr meets a new patient. He proceeded to inject me with anesthesia, as he inserted the needle, he hit a nerve which made me scream with excruciating pain. A pain never felt in my whole existence and literally made me jump off the chair. Stupidly, he screams at me and says, "DON'T MOVE, DON'T MOVE" as if, at that moment, I had any control of my convulsing body and the pain inflicted by hitting that nerve. He then tried to save face by saying that this was normal; Yeah right! Everyone in the office heard my scream and they came around to find out what had happened; he got extremely nervous and embarrassed and proceeded to warn me if I trusted him or not as a doctor to continue, I said, excuse me sir but I don't want you to touch me ever again ever! and then proceeded to walk out of the office. That should have been a "sign" for me to stay away from this place, but due to my insurance plan restrictions I was forced to go back and have said problem corrected, in which case Dr. Julie was the newly assigned dentist to my case. This time the anesthesia was applied properly and she went on to supposedly correct my problem. A month later I am back because the filling she had previously completely fell out and I ended up with a big hole in my tooth. Dr. Julie examined the tooth and told me that I needed a Crown which would cost me out of pocket $400.00 plus another $100.00 for some sort of preparation needed for its installation (never heard of that one before), nevertheless I agreed to go with the procedure and asked her how long will it take to get the crown made and she said 2 weeks; they then demanded that I pay the $500.00 up front. Three weeks went by without hearing from the office which prompted me to call to find out what was going with the crown; only for them to tell me that the crown was in but Dr. Julie was on vacation for the next 2 weeks; I asked if there was someone else who could install the crown for me and she said no one was available to do it and had to wait for Dr Julie to come back; to which I responded with indignation the a lack of responsibility and consideration on her part she had for her patients, by not assigning someone to do the work while she was going to be absent. After over a month of waiting, she finally installed the crown after a 10 minute bout trying to remove the temporary piece (there's got to be a better way to remove it!) Late that afternoon, I called her to complain about a terrible pain I had with the tooth but she was not available; so I left a message with the receptionist for her to call me back since I needed some medication to relieve the pain. But no dice, even until today, she's never returned my call!.....imagine, what kind of Dr are we talking about here? Oh! I forgot to mention that after paying them $500.00 up front for this crown, they had the nerve to charge me a co-pay fee on the "follow up" visit the day they installed the crown,......money hungry? nah!
Never go see Dr Maron

I went to Dr. Maron today for a consultation to get TWO of my wisdom teeth removed. He showed up an hour late and then spent 10 minutes putting on "doctor clothes". When he finally came out, he says "are you getting your wisdom teeth removed today?". Stunned that he had no idea what he was there for, I just told him I needed more information. Without even so much as glancing at my X-Rays, he says we need to remove all four and let's do it as soon as possible. I told him I only needed two removed (as I was told by another trustworth professional) and he said "no let's just get it over with." He is so money-hungry and doesn't care about the patient even a bit! I waited all that time for absolutely nothing and will NEVER EVER see him for any treatment and will NEVER recommend him. Also, the staff is ridiculously unprofessional and incredibly unorganized. I have had nothing but terrible experiences. I feel sorry for Dr. Grosso, who is acutally a fine dentist but hires such a group of idiots.

I went to the Secaucus< NJ office & Dr. Maron pulled my bottom teeth & put in inplants in. He was very professional. I am still going back as I am having problems with the teeth not snapping in correctly on the right side. This problem has been ongoing for 2 yrs. other than that Dr. Maron was very professional except for one time when I went in I complained & wanted to see Dr. Maron as he is the owner of the office and he came in I told him my problem and he said to me "what do you want me to do" and left the the office. The doctor who took my impressions was Dr. Mitch who I keep going back to since they put the teeth in. I just keep having problems.

THIS IS WHY I LEFT OFFICE!! HE STARTS OUT SO NICE AND I THOUGHT HE WAS WONDERFUL BUT HE DIDNT CARE ABOUT ME & MY PROBLEMS WITH MY TEETH. WE ALL HAVE PERSONAL ISSUES BUT HAVE TO PUT THAT ASIDE FOR THE PATIENTS. I HAD TO LEAVE BECAUSE WAS HAVING DIFFERENT ISSUES AND WAS KEEPING GOING BACK OVER AND OVER. IM NOT MAD BUT I HAD TO MOVE ON.

Maron ruled. He wasted no time, got my wisdom tooth out quickly, and only time he talked to me was to remind me that I was asking a dumb question. He did the job, asked if I was ok and then left. No nonsense, no sugar coated "act". I cant wait for my follow up so he can make fun of me to my face again.

After a long wait in a small office(The perfect smile- Redbank) I was called back. They took x-rays even though I brought my own that was less than three wks. old. The room was filthy (the waiting room was cleaner), tools were not covered or wrapped, and a live fly in the spit bowl. Starting to rethink this place I went out front to call hubby whom made my appointed. So I decided to suck it up because teeth are really bad. When I returned Dr. Maron was in the room and seemed agitated by the fact I wasn't waiting for him when he arrived. The only thing he said was, "What teeth are we pulling?" I told him (2 xrays?) He proceeded to ask me again, and I repeated which teeth & told him they're the only 2 on that side so it shouldn't be to hard to find them. He took the needle jabbed it into my gums (no topical/numbing ointment applied) causing me to visibly clench up my body & clutching the chair I moan in pain, he jabs me again harder than the first leaving me to push his hand away from my mouth, he replies "that should numb ya up" at the moment I'm flying out of the chair. I exclaim "that's not how you numb a mouth, I'm out of here!!" I gather my kids from the waiting room visibly shaken and leave. A dental assistant follows asking me if I want to go back. Of course I told her No!! & that I've had dental work before & that's not how it's done. Get out to parking lot with a numb mouth & spitting blood. I've had dental work done before, 4 kids natural birth, also a few surgeries, I don't consider myself to be a wimp. Overall a complete nightmare. Please don't take your family to this Dr. Moran! Worst experience I've ever had within the medical field. After reading these reviews I'm so glad I didn't let him do the extractions.

I went to The Apprehensive Patient in Secaucus, NJ. I had a tooth extraction yesterday and it was the worst experience of my life. I've had tooth extractions before and never have I experienced something like this. I came in and the staff seemed alright, and the nurse I saw beforehand was very nice and calming so I wasn't all that nervous. They took X-rays that he NEVER looked at. He walked in with a small child, I'm guessing maybe his son? He hugged him and told him to go somewhere. Then he says, "how ya feel"? I told him I had an abscess and that my dentist referred me to have the infected tooth extracted. He goes, " K you wanna do this today"? I said "yes, I'd like it out today". He then put gloves on, jabbed the needle hard into the gums above the tooth that was infected and then jabbed it into the roof of my mouth?! Right into the hard palate, it was so painful I jumped and cried out. I've never had a dentist do that before, then he just walked out. He came back 5-10 min later, opened my mouth, and yanked out my tooth in 4 parts (because all that was left of the tooth was the roots). He was so rough, I swear, I know that extractions aren't a walk in the park but this was like torture, it was like he was angrily ripping them out of my face and flinging them on the bib. The last one he pulled felt like a crunching pop like he fractured something, maybe it was just the broken tooth but my god, I sat in that chair cringing I was so frightened and upset that he could treat people like that. After he flung the last bit on the bib, he goes, "you're done" and walked out of the room. I sat there in almost shock just crying because my face started to hurt already, even being numb. I told the nurse I want him to come back and tell me why my face hurt already. I waited for 40 min. before he came back and looked at me like, "what"? I said, why does it hurt already? Aren't you supposed to be numb at least for awhile until you can get the prescriptions filled? He goes, "well, you got a bad infection, it's gonna hurt." He then wrote the prescriptions for amoxicillin and Vicodin and he goes, " just take the Vicodin, it'll help you". I hate narcotics, I hate the way it feels but I took a half as soon as it was filled because of how much pain I was in. I walked out of that office so angry and upset. I cannot believe that a medical office that is named "THE APPREHENSIVE PATIENT" would have such a rough, terribly mannered oral surgeon on staff. He should not practice dentistry. I swear, the way he pulled my teeth I swear it was as if he liked hurting people. Worst experience of my life. I will NEVER go back there. DO NOT GO TO DR. MARON FOR ANY ORAL SURGERY! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

I must add to prior comments ,,You are describing that the needle was JABBED into your mouth , Im not a dentsist but do know that anything near a infected TOOTH is going to hurt How can you say he was ANGRY ,,,,,Maybe it was that the tooth was hard to remove ? I personally am a patient and find him to have the best skills .Takes the time to explain everything ...I am terrified of needles and He is the most gentle guy ...I am looking forward to going back and having the remaining worl done .......You people also know that anyone can write ANYTHING about a person on these pages ,,,,,,,I have to disagree with many on here .....I would like to Thank Dr Maron for all the time he has given me in explaining everything step by step ......You are a fantastic Oral Surgeon and I again look forward to finishing m work ....Im amazed at what you have done so far and THANK YOU ,,,,,,,Karen Esa .......

I will not go into the specifics of my HORRIBLE experience with Dr. Maron as 45 comments speak for themselves. I have to believe this doctor is either mentally ill or on drugs. He is gruff, angry, crazy eyed, ill prepared, with no actual knowledge or concern about or for his patient. I go to Apprehensive patient and pay 4 times what it would normally cost for an extraction because I erroneously believed there would be a kind, understanding oral surgeon. Sadly like some bad horror film, nothing could be further from the truth!

Stay away from Dr. Maron at all costs. Without hesitation I can say that any positive comment on this forum about the doctor has to be written by him, a family member or a paid representative. He is, without a doubt, the WORST dentist I have ever encountered. One would have to believe with all these people taking the time out of their day to write these extended reviews, how horrific he truly is.

I went to the Apprehensive Dentist because I needed a molar removed and did not want to be awake. I previously had teeth removed with sedation by other oral surgeons and did not know anything or feel anything until I woke up. I never saw this Dr. Maron at all. When I went into the chair the day of surgery someone walked in and started giving me a needle in the arm which was supposed to start the sedation. I asked if he was the doctor and he said no he was just getting me ready. I don't know if he was the doctor or not but he did put a butterfly needle in my arm and I did start getting sleepy. The next thing I know I was in excruciating pain and it felt like someone ripping my teeth out of my mouth and I was yelling and crying because the pain was so bad. I specifically told the dentist who saw me the day before that I cannot be awake because I will freak out. My daughter said she heard me screaming in pain in the waiting room. I have never had such a bad experience in my life. I just had this tooth removed and it 3 days later and it is still bleeding and my jaw above the tooth does not feel right. I just hope he did not mess up my jaw because I have never had this problem with the other oral surgeries and they were worse than this tooth. Never again will I go to this office.

I guess I should preface this by saying after skimming through all of the prior responses I am sorry that all your experiences were terrible.

I was taken as an emergency for a broken tooth given an appointment the same day and waited less then 20 minutes before I was taken in to be seen first by Dr. Patel who was wonderful and recommended that my tooth be removed. Dr. Maron was finished for the day and on his way out of the office when Dr. Patel approached him with my situation. He came in reviewed my x-ray examined my mouth and proceeded to explain options available but thought removing the tooth was the best option. He quickly and efficiently removed my tooth. I was relieved that it was over so quick because any dental appointment gives me anxiety never mind a tooth being pulled. I have discomfort but I assume that is to be expected. I would go back to that office in a new york minute for any dental needs the staff was very friendly and efficient and Drs. Patel and Maron made my experience not so scary and helped me make informed decisions regarding my situation.
