All of the education on the planet could not help this idiot. Fire his a$$, common sense does not appear to be a birthright.

Due to the screwed up system, he will either scream he has tenure or file lawsuits and keep teaching or be given a large severance package.

Not to worry; all rabid Ball State prof's are quite docile for a long period after feeding on police car molding.

The man is a college professor -- what do you expect? He doesn't work in a "real-world" job, has the summer off (or gets paid extra to work during his "vacation"), is surrounded by young, naive kids that he has power over (by giving them grades), and through the magic of tenure, has a guaranteed job for life. If anyone else had such a job, they would do the same kinds of stupid things BECAUSE THEY CAN, too. No big suprise that he got drunk, tried to hit on one of his students, and ended up attacking the arresting officers.

Is he tenured? Then he will be around a LONG time.
Look, this guy needs help. It is not Ball State's job to get it for him, but since he can't be fired, it is in the University's best interest to provide him with AA meetings.

He should be fired, it is a bad influence for the students, and gives a good college a bad name.

This should be a lesson to all the little college students about drinking to much and taking drugs. But then again, I know it won't be. It was my experience in college that idiot professors like him are the norm, not the exception. I love my hoosier tax dollars at work.

Sounds as if the cops were right this time, a first! The student who was prostituting himself should be made to wear a scarlet letter also to show his dumb ass aint for sale, at least, not for an A

If parents of current students, and all alumni write letters to the President of Ball State informing the College that no future donations will be made to the school as long as this man is employed by them....tenure be damned....he will be toast.....money rules the schools.

I had Dr. Mundrake for 2 classes during the 90's and found him to be helpful, knowledgable, and all-around excellent professor.

I never knew that he was a drinker, but obviously he needs help. I sincerely hope he gets the help that he needs.

Does he need to be fired for this? I don't think so. Tenure or not, while he should have some sort of accountability, I don't think he should be fired.

Why was a male student at a male professor's house at 6 a.m. on a Saturday morning? Aren't there rules about associating with instructors off campus?

A mental institution will be a great fit for our dear Professor.

He's my Prof this semester!!! I wondered why he wasn't there to administer the final on Monday. I thought he was a pretty good teacher. He was pretty calm and got along great with our class. I think its funny...he had to be annihilated!

Thanks for the A Mundrake. See you next year?

Like it or not, certain people “should” be held to a higher standard. Police, elected officials, sports celebrities, teachers etc. are looked up to by the next generation. And these people in those positions have a golden opportunity to better the world we live in by setting a good example unlike most other occupations do.
To squander that opportunity should be a statutory crime as well as a ethics crime. If being on good behavior is too much to ask, they should look for another vocation!
A mistake is a mistake but come on!

Maybe exposing some of these incidents publicly and shaming these people will save a life some day? We do it to those who solicit prostitution or buy drugs with the intent to embarrass them into not doing it again. Hummmm, might work?

But also keep in mind that it might be enough to drive them to do harm to themsleves. So be careful.

Dr. Kathryn Loy Fletcher of Ball State endangered a child. The liquor doesn't force itself down her throat. She repeatedly risked our families on the road to accidents or death. When she decided to drink, drive, and put children in the car it became a crime. It is bad enough to do this at all, but to continue drinking afterwards is a real problem. This professor teaches child psychology and ethics in psychology. Ball State teaches by example. Is this acceptable to anyone besides the BSU trustees?
