Why does Matt think if voter turnout were higher those extra voters would have voted for him? This doesn't make any sense.

15.8% of 48,252 votes is the same as 15.8% of 11,950 votes. it is what it is. i also understand the election is now certified.no recount this time around.

He is delusional. Funny how he is railing against negative comments when it worked for him the first time he was elected when he ran on a ticket with Souillere.

And Troester is a moron. "I didn't take a sick day for 26 years", one of the reasons people were upset with him is that he inflated his pension over his yearly salary.

Thank god people saw through both of them.

I still expect to see Ahearn back in the race in a couple of years.

Ahearn does seem like the type that will be back in two years. Perhaps him and Frederick can run on a slate and lose together. Ron will be the next one to go as speaking to people in the city they dislike him more than Ahearn.

People aren't impressed by the two he has now. Three if you count his custard truck, his favorite child.

Can not believe his quote “I don’t think it was a true showing of what the residents truly wanted,”
isn't that a true definition of an election? What other way do residents have to show what they want?

The house on Elizabeth that is loaded with code violations is going to be Fredericks undoing, any candidate against will have plenty of ammo, even the arguement at with pizza place owner during a recent meeting, where he stated the owners "donation" wasn't enough. Plenty of skeletons in Ron's re-election closet.

As for Ahearn taking another stab at the council, I don't think Ted will waste his money again. He got nothing for $8000 investment this go around.

Don't forget that Frederick voted for school of choice in the south lake district just before leaving the school board and joing city council. That will cost him a lot of votes once the public is educated on his track record.

You hear that Ron we all know you read this blog.

Get a life, it didn't change their minds in 2007 when he ran for council. People forget when going to the polls what they are going there for. Most are going for change, but its not for a change of clothing or shoes, its for candidates.

Insulting the voters, Jack? No wonder you lost their vote. Twice. This year.

It didn't change because no one was there to bring it up. There are a line of people who will bring up a lot on this man in 2011.

I hope you are correct, I for one won't forget what he has done to this community, from holding $25,000.00 checks for the fireworks while his buddy depleated the activities account, to reselling pizza's, just his pushy actions are enough to turn my stomach. He will probably try and be the M.C. at the swearing in night at city hall. He's just a drip that the bucket didn't catch.

Ahearn also attributed his loss to “a very low turnout,” which was 24.77 percent.

“I don’t think it was a true showing of what the residents truly wanted,” he said.

LOL, you are right Matt, we truly wanted Bev, Bob and Ron out too!

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Leo

You'll be action-oriented today, Leo. If truth be told, intense physical activity has the ability to soothe you much more than frenzied mental exercise. Invitations to madness are the wrong thing for you, but they are tempting nonetheless. Dig in your heels and do what you know you have to do. When driving this evening, take extra care.
