I hope any who have judged Lee Denny will consider that we're all in this together. Be careful, you might be next. Before this economy improves we may all have an unfortunate experience and we would do well to have a heart for others who are facing extreme trials now. I don't know Lee Denny but he has succeeded in the past and he will find his way again. I hope the best for him and his family and I pray he will endure. I don't care what his personality is. His heart beats just like the rest of us.

I agree with Leveler, Lee Denny has succeeded in the past and he will succeed again.I hope the people that are kicking him while he is down do not have the nerve to look him in the eyes and speek to him when he gets back on top. It takes alot of hard work to accomplish the things Lee Denny accomplished.

Hey folks, We shouldn't use this as a way of kicking Lee Denny. Personally I never met the man, I did purchase one vehicle at GM Giant and it was a pleasure. The current economic climate and GMs inability to produce cars that the American consumer wants to purchase is the reason for this dealership's downfall. I work in the boat business where inventory is purchased the same as the car bus. via floorplan (financing). If you are the principle of a dealership with millions of dollars of inventory, personal guarantees for that inventory, and the livelihoods of all those families you would do anything to keep the dealership in business. You have to remember that when their no customers coming in but $100,000s going out each month it doesn't take long for a company to fold. What would you do? How would you react? I've lived in Easton most of my life. I have never heard of GM Giant "screwing" their customers or employees. They've consistantly supported the community and been very active in keeping Talbot Co. a very special place to live and work. Now when the chips are down and a man is down on his luck some of you people use the opportunity to vilify Mr. Denny so you can feel better about yourselves. I have nothing but sympathy for all of those effected by the closing of GM Giant. Those who take pleasure in this should realize that the same thing that's happening to these families may happen to you one day. My thoughts and prayers are with the Denny family and the families of those involved. I know that the community will help them thru this difficult economic time.

To all of you who support Lee Denny, I couldn't agree more. Not sure how anyone can take delight in the decline of his dealership or any other business. Who cares if you like Lee or not. Through his businesses, he kept many people employed and, as such, kept roofs over peoples' heads and food on the table. Lee is an aggressive, intelligent businessman who got caught up in the economic crisis we're ALL a part of. Sure, he probably made some poor business decisions; who hasn't? But the people of Easton need leaders like Lee (arrogant or unfriendly or whatever) to take chances and push the envelope and build businesses in your small town that, frankly, isn't very open nor kind to new business owners. We should all wish Lee, and every other business owner like him, the best of luck--they're the people that kept the economy growning and will help bring it back. So, whether you like Lee or hate him, keep your fingers crossed that he remains in Easton where he will surely continue to make your community a better place to live. And the next time someone moves to your small town, greet them with open arms and a genuine smile--they just might be the best thing to happen to Easton in a long time. And to Lee, keep your chin up, Easton needs people like you.

If Lee had been on the right side of the law and been doing the right thing all along this would not be happening to him. Buddy Harrison and Lee have been big time drug dealers around here, where you think the unaccounted cars have gone from the lot since all this has gone down??? Their suppliers !!! Buddy is gonna be next, just you watch. The gig is up " Good ole boys " time to pay the piper!!! Jail is not a pretty place.

I guess that rumors may fly, and all that is said here will someday prove correct or not. I have been waiting 2 years for Mr Denny to return a phone call about a brand new vehicle I purchased from the GM Giant. He refuses to handle any situation that a true local owner would take care of. Service was not part of the GM giant experience. WIth the economy in its present state, how could the GM Giant stay around? I am sure that he will wiggle out and reappear at a dealer near you!

you guys really crack me up. I can tell you that Lee personally only sold maybe 1 or 2 cars per month, he was rarely in the dealership for more than a couple hours at a time. There are many, many reasons for the demise of this and many other dealers, not the least of which came when GM decided to withold all rebates for a longer period of time in December, thus cutting off necessary cash flow to the dealers. This was likely a move on GM's part to help reduce the number of dealers.(they reported to congress that they needed to) I can tell you for certain, there were no missing cars or cars not reported sold. GMAC has been doing random unannounced inventory reconcilliations for the last 2 years and nearly monthly for the last 6 months. Again, this scenario is playing out all over the country in hundreds of dealerships across every brand and with most of the floorplan banks. It CANNOT all be because of illigitimate business practices. The saddest part of it all is that the dealers that survive the next year will all be the ones that do not go as deep into thier profits to sell cars. In other words, your next car will likely cost a lot more than the one you currently drive.

you really miss the point don't you, I am not defending him, Lee has his issues, but assuming he could use the business for illigitimate purposes, would mean that he had people working for him at the dealership that were also corrupt and that is just plain not true!!!

I can not believe the amount of ridiculous crap in these posts. 30 cars missing with drug dealers, suicide, rehab, stop posting “fact” unless you are sure that it is factual. First, cars do not go missing unless maybe alien invaders are involved and I haven’t read about that in any of your posts. Car dealer inventories are financed by the dealer and when they sell them, they need to be paid off just like if you sold your car to someone else. The bank or GMAC whoever has financed your inventory has the right to do an inventory or floorplan check at any time. If they can not find the cars they financed for you, they want to know where they are and if they have been sold and not paid off in a timely manner, they want to know why. I don’t know if this is what has happened, but it would explain the “missing” cars. As for everyone who worked there, I wish you all the best. Since I worked there for several years as the Giant was built, I know a lot of you and I am sorry this has happened. When I heard the news, all I could think about were the years of hard work and true dedication to a company that wasn’t able to weather this harsh economy. In the end, that will be the reason for the failure of more than one business in the area. As for the ill wishers, have a heart. I could very easily hate the man, and if any of you know who this is you know I would have my reasons, but I don’t. I wish Lee and especially his family all the best and I hope they come out of this to find success.
