Two Catholic schools to shut doors

The Diocese of Bridgeport will close two of the city's six Catholic elementary schools at the end of the school year and reorganize two other schools into a primary and middle school in the fall.

It is a shame, I feel sorry for the students and their parents, and the schools staff. What is the church is going to do with the buildings?

.....so the gays have managed to be the biggest factor in the destruction of the church, a formerly valuable asset to the community.

Time to 'reinvent' the Catholic church. There is an opportunity to do it right now, given the resignation of the pope. No more gays of any kind in the church, period. That would mean 90% of the priests presently employed would have to go.

I should clarify. I am NOT a homophobe- but the catholic church does not sanction gay priests. Gay priests have infiltrated the church and that is dishonest and deceptive. Thats wrong.

Gay people are fine; I have gay friends; but gay people ought not be sneaking in to the priesthood if that religion opposes it. By the way, I am also not religious.

I agree gay priests have infiltrated the church, but not a heck of a lot seems to be getting done to correct the situation. They preach against homosexuality, yet have love affairs themselves. I wonder how they justify this? I, too, am for gay rights.
